Hendersonville Publix

   United Way of Sumner
County officials visited associates at three Publix Super Markets over the past week to say "Thank You!" for donating more than $138,000 during the 2013 fundraising campaign.
   Associates at each store were thanked for their commitment to the community with a celebration including balloons, cake, and fellowship.
   The following amounts were given by Publix Associates in 2013:

* Publix Store # 1033 in Gallatin - $20,922;
   * Publix Store #1141 in Goodlettsville - $35,438; and
   * Publix Store #119 in Hendersonville - $22,841.

   Combined with a $59,000 corporate contribution from Publix Charities, Publix was respsonsible for contributing a total of $138,201 to make Sumner County a better place to live in 2013!

   "Publix is annually one of our top campaigns and supporters," said UWSC President/CEO Dana M. Given. "It is always a highlight of the year to go into our Publix stores to express our appreciation and say 'Thank You' to Publix associates for their generosity. Their donations go a long way toward helping us achieve our goal of making Sumner County a better place to live for all of us."

    Thank you to everyone at Publix who is helping Sumner County LIVE UNITED!

Fundraising campaign tops $730,000!
   With just 31 days remaining in its 2013 campaign, United Way of Sumner County has raised just over $730,000 for the year, creating an uphill climb to exceed the $816,628 raised in the record-setting 2012 campaign.
    According to UWSC President and CEO Dana M. Given, $734,070 has been pledged to the 2013 campaign that officially ends March 31, an amount totaling 89.9% of the charity's 2012 total. As of March 1, the fundraising total is running approximately 3.1% behind collections received a year ago.
    According to UWSC President/CEO Dana M. Given, the local charity remains optimistic that it can match the fudraising total from 2012.
    "At this point we are working diligently to identify new sources of revenue in hopes that we can raise at least a little more than the $816,628 we raised last year," Given said. "The number of needs in Sumner County continues to increase, so the work we are doing is more important than ever."
    The 2013 United Way of Sumner County fundraising campaign continues through March 31. If you or your business are interested in contributing to help improve the quality of life in our community, contact Given at 461-8371 to find out how you can give today!
