United Way of West Central Connecticut's 31st Day of Caring was a success. The weather was wonderful on Friday, May 19 with over 300 volunteers spending the day giving back to the community.
Many long-time volunteer teams returned such as Cigna, Webster Bank, and Bauer. And several first-time Day of Caring volunteer teams, M&T Bank, and Main Street Community Foundation joined the United Way family.
This year, 19 nonprofits signed up to be project sites. These organizations are dedicated to serving their communities and making a positive impact on society. Among the project sites this year were Bristol Adult Resource Center, Wheeler Health, Bristol Historical Society, Wheeler YMCA, St. Vincent De Paul Mission, and many more!
Each of these nonprofits offers unique programs and services that cater to different needs within the community. Bristol Adult Resource Center, for instance, provides support and employment opportunities for adults with disabilities. Wheeler Health, on the other hand, is a healthcare provider that offers a range of services, including primary care, behavioral health, and addiction treatment.
The Bristol Historical Society is dedicated to preserving the history of Bristol, Connecticut, while the Wheeler YMCA promotes health and wellness through various programs and activities. The St. Vincent De Paul Mission is a nonprofit that provides food, shelter, and other essential services to those in need.
Overall, the 19 nonprofits that have signed up to be project sites this year represent a diverse range of causes and missions. Each organization is committed to making a positive impact on their community, and we are proud to support their efforts through our project.
Thank you to all who participated in this year's Day of Caring! This year's Day of Caring shirt said it all, "United Starts With You"!
