Understand lien waivers to get paid faster

Have you ever had a payment or draw be delayed because of a lien waiver? The correct lien waiver form with correct information will get you paid fastest. You know of conditional and unconditional, partial and full, but do you know when you need each?
These are mistakes we’ve seen, and getting it right will help to streamline paperwork, bank draws, and ultimately get you paid.

1. Lien waivers begin “Our contract with <Your Company Name Here>”. If you are requesting a lien waiver from Preston Feather, your company name goes at the top and Preston Feather goes at the bottom.

2. The paid through date for partial waivers correlates to one of our billing cycle close dates. For example, when the billing cycle closed on the 1/25/18, that is the paid through date (Not 2/1/18)

3. When the paid through date matches the billing cycle close, the waiver amount will be the statement balance.

4. Send pre-filled lien waivers with your payments for the fastest turn-around.

6 common mistakes contractors make during the busy season
Contractor coach Tom Reber shares things he sees business owners do that sabotage their entire year. With a little focus you can avoid some of these.

1. They stop building new relationships. 
2. They don’t continue marketing. 
3. They don’t make connections near jobs. 
4. They don’t do enough pre-project planning.
5. They don't job cost.

U.S. house prices to rise on strong demand and shortage of homes

U.S. house prices will rise at double the pace of inflation and wages this year as the supply of single-family homes falls short of rising demand, making housing less affordable, according to property market analysts in a Reuters poll. Demand for housing has been driven by a strengthening labor market and a robust pickup in economic growth — but a lack of supply is holding back activity.
