Friends of the Farm-

We're so excited about the return of many of our favorite tender greens that we decided this week to double up on the Umbel Roots greens mix and give you a full pound of our proprietary mix. There are a total of 13 different greens in this week's mix alone. A signature of our farm, these same greens are favorites of many of the restaurants that we serve across the Bay. We are quickly building a reputation for this mix, and happy to share them with you this week in CSA.

This week's recipe is a bit of a nod to our love of radishes. Behold the power of grilled radishes! The simple combination of grilled and raw radishes work to build texture and flavor in the finished dish. The addition of fresh mint, grated cheese, and pomegranate seeds work in harmony too to add crunch, pop, and color to this late-fall salad. Simple and delicious, this is a dish that will stand out on the table with the subtle beauty of our radishes.

Don't forget to tune into this week's edition of our CSA music playlist. Link to our Spotify playlist is attached below to join the groove...
The tune to rule them all this week might just be Mdou Moctar's Tarhatazed. Watch out, it's a ripper from West Africa! John Prine (rest in peace) brings us Saddle in the Rain from one of the less known albums in his catalog, Common Sense. Willie Mitchell, King Floyd, Patrice Rushen, and the J.B.'s bring the funk this week that you've grown to expect as an Umbel Roots staple to our our weekly mixes. A double dose of Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney, and the bluegrass collective, The Shenandoah Cut-Ups highlight the versatility of these artists and the many stages of their careers. Just like the savory and sweet balance of roasted root veggies and pumpkin pie, this playlist strikes a solid balance of genre and tempo for your weekend cooking and holiday ahead. Enjoy!

If you're like us, the Thanksgiving holiday is one of our favorites. A holiday centered in cooking, and gathering friends and family in thanks and good food is what it's all about.
