Adam and Melanie initially were interested in adopting children under the age of four years old. When they heard about two brothers in Uganda named Aaron (approximately age 7) and Enoch (approximately age 5), they committed their decision to prayer. They felt the Lord calling them to adopt these boys. They immediately began the work of having their home study updated and educating themselves about adopting older children. Adam and Melanie arrived home with Aaron and Enoch on May 15, 2013. They have seen favor and miracles all along their adoption journey.  To read some of their story first hand, please read our blog.

In other news, we are beginning to make plans for Ken to travel again to the US and visit some churches.  We are tentatively looking at dates between October 3, 2013 and October 28, 2013.  If you would like to have Ken visit your church, please let us know as soon as possible.  He will be in California October 5th for the Vivian's Hope Fundraiser but other dates are still open.  Since there are only 4 Sundays, and we want Ken to be able to speak at as many churches as possible, please consider inviting him to Saturday or Wednesday services as well.  Once we have some invitations, we will begin to set his itinerary and purchase tickets.  Remember, Ken is not a pastor and does not intend to preach.  He can be available to share about Heart of a Child or speak even to a small group or bible study.  Past churches have had Ken share a slide show and talk about the ministry or answer direct questions from the pastor.  It can be very informal. 

We are still looking for 12 churches to support the baby's home one month each year.  So far, we have had one church commit to May each year and a family has committed to December each year.  This family's willingness to commit reminded me that I should not be limiting support to just churches.  If your family, small group, or organization would like to commit to supporting the Tender Hearts Baby Home one month out of each year, please let me know.  I will send you a packet of information.  We additionally have two other churches committed to supporting the baby's home budget 2 additional months, but they have not chosen their month yet.  That means we need 8 more months to be covered.  God is good!  In the meantime, we still need to raise funds for the baby's home budget for the month of June.  If you would like to make a donation, please see the information below.

Please continue to pray for Joan and her family who will be traveling at the end of June.  Pray that all will go well with their travel and with court.
