We have some great news this morning. Joan is on her way home to the US with her forever family!! Praise the Lord! We hope to have a photo of Joan with her entire family on our next Uganda update.
In other great news, the inside walls of the new baby home have been plastered and the plumbing has been started. At this point, the work has stopped as we need to raise $60,000 to finish the building.
Ken and Cathy are in the process of getting the baby home license renewed. During this process, they have made the decision to hire a doctor/nurse to be available to the babies on a regular basis. This will increase the monthly budget by $250 per month starting this month. We know that this added medical care will increase the quality of care for each child living at the baby home. Once the babies are moved to the new site, the medical professional will live on site. Thanks to Vivian's Hope, we do not have to worry about this additional monthly expense as medical expenses are able to be covered by this wonderful organization!
This month, we sent all available funds for the baby's home for August to Ken and Cathy, and we are short $1,173.48 for meeting this month's budget. We are asking for donations to meet this deficit.
In other great news, Ken is now booked to speak at 5 churches this coming October! All of his weekends are now full, but if your church has a small group or a Wed night service and you would like Ken to travel to you, please let me know. I will be booking his final domestic flights the week of August 12th so I will need to hear from everyone before that date.
We are still looking for churches to commit to supporting the baby's home one month out of each year. Please see the available months listed below and please talk to your church about supporting the cause of the orphan.
