Claude Deschamps, M.D., president and CEO of the University of Vermont Health Network Medical Group (UVMHN Medical Group) and senior associate dean for clinical affairs at the Larner College of Medicine has announced that Cheung Wong, MD, associate professor of obstetrics, gynecology and reproductive sciences, has accepted the role of associate vice president for clinical affairs for the UVM Health Network Medical Group.

Cheung Wong, M.D., vice chair of gynecology, director of gynecologic oncology and urogynecology, associate professor of obstetrics, gynecology and reproductive sciences, and associate dean of Continuing Medical and Interprofessional Education at the University of Vermont's Larner College of Medicine, was invested in a formal ceremony on June 8, 2018 as the inaugural Berta Pi-Sunyer Williams Endowed Professor.

Highlights from the 44th Annual Family Medicine Review Course
The 44th Annual Family Medicine Review Course was a success with more than 200 physicians, nurses and members of the healthcare team in attendance! Some highlights included an interactive LARC workshop with Course Director Anya Koutras, MD, and a talk on opioid use disorder in pregnancy by Dr. Kelley Saia from Boston University School of Medicine.

More than 90 primary care clinicians and other healthcare professionals in the community came together for the 12th Annual Child Psychiatry in Primary Care Conference on Friday, May 4 at the Hampton Inn in Colchester, Vt.

13th Annual Vermont AHEC Vermont Geriatrics Conference Recap
On April 11, 2018, over 150 physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, pharmacists, and other health professionals with an interest in the care of older adults attended the 13th Annual Vermont Area Health Education Centers (AHEC) Vermont Geriatrics Conference, which covered practical and innovative approaches to the medical care of older adults.

First-ever Integrative Pain Management Conference a Success!
Presented by UVM Integrative Health, the conference introduced new standards for assessing and treating pain and showed more than 250 participants how research-based therapies including acupuncture, meditation and yoga can help calm the nervous system for better health on Saturday, April 7 at the Dudley H. Davis Student Center.

Our programs provide opportunities for health care professionals to master what is new, gain fresh insights into the diagnosis and management of common clinical conditions, and share successes and challenges with colleagues.
