Our Stories, Everyday People
Tuesday Covenant Group
The Tuesday Evening Covenant group presents “Our Stories, Everyday People” where we’ll share our stories together in this welcoming space while practicing deep listening in an experience similar to a Covenant group setting.

The Share the Plate recipient for July will be Northside Common Ministries. "At Northside Common Ministries, we are committed to building those bridges that connect our neighbors in need to an improved quality of life, while tearing down the walls that keep the hungry and homeless from success." NCM's work is supported by over 60 church congregations, including UUCNH, that provide dinners for the Pleasant Valley Men's Shelter. This year, UUCNH is providing dinners in April, July, and September.

|
|
We are working to restart our OWL program, and are looking for folks willing to be facilitators, particularly at the middle and high school grade levels. We are especially interested in having a male-identifying facilitator, but we will consider everyone! If you are potentially interested, PLEASE contact Abby Vaughn or Dawn Lindsay at cyfdteam@uucnh.org. Sunnyhill (South Hills UU) is having an in-person training in August, but online trainings are also available.
If you register before June 30, UUCNH will cover the training fees! (We may be able to do that after June 30th, but that is not guaranteed.)

From
Kip Ruefle. A joy;
My niece and her husband welcomed a bouncing baby boy into their lives last week.
Also from Kip, a sorrow: Thursday evening my girlfriend’s father passed peacefully in his home, his wife of fifty years by his side.
From Christopher Gromoll, a concern.
My partner Jennifer had to have an unexpected surgery this past week and is recovering at home.
From Joe Meier, a concern.
Joe reports that he heard from Pat Bauer.
Pat says he has just returned to Pittsburgh after several days in a Myrtle Beach hospital.
Pat says he was feeling light-headed and the next thing he knew a bunch of EMS people
were putting him in an ambulance. After three days his wife was able to drive themselves back to Pittsburgh. No other medical details are available. He thinks he should be able to work in a week or two. Until we have Pat back our projects utilizing his skills will have to be on hold.

Note: There are times when you may not be able to share during service but want the Congregation to know what is on your heart. In that instance, just contact a member of the Lay Pastoral Care Team (LPCT) in person or submit your Joys & Sorrows electronically by clicking here. Once submitted, the form is sent to all LPCT members. (Chris Hill, Ruth Horwitz, Susan Powers, Lynne Herchenroether, Inga Burton-Smith, and Marsha Pedone). Please be sure to submit your item by NOON on Saturday at the latest, so we get it in time for Service. Also, LPCT emails are forwarded to all members of the team. We welcome your sharing and would be honored to carry forth your message.
