Opportunity for Good
San Mateo County should take eviction off the table, as Alameda and Solano counties have done. Give renters more time. Allow renters 12 months after the moratorium ends to make up back rent, as Alameda and Los Angeles counties have done. Create more resources for rental assistance to keep families from emerging from this period with crippling amounts of debt.

Click to sign the petition before Friday, July 31st. Sponsored by the People's Alliance for San Mateo County.
Our Next Service on August 2nd:
Touchstones Theme for August: Creation
On this August 2nd, five years to the day after the UUCC founders first met at the Half Moon Bay Coffee Company, we meet again. We’re going to sing and sentimentalize, laugh and lounge around. And, with our eyes on the future and our hearts on our sleeves, all donations collected at our service today go to the Coastside Crisis Fund, which includes Abundant Grace, ALAS, and Coastside Hope. Dave Rokosky reflects on our founding goals and aspirations. Dianne Baker and Tricia Dell remind us that these donations to Coastside agencies are so important to our neighbors in need.

At the end of our 5th Anniversary service, we will toast one another and celebrate 5 years of the Unitarian Universalist Coastside Community. Have at hand your favorite celebratory beverage next Sunday for a virtual toast. Salud!

Upcoming Service:
Touchstones Theme for August: Creation
On this August 16th, Rev. Jo Ann Green joins us to talk about "Creating Integrity." How do we view ourselves and others when it comes to integrity? What elements of integrity affect others in our community? Are we considering others when we make decisions that might affect the community as a whole? How do spirituality and integrity connect? Join us this Sunday as we explore the deep fulfillment within ourselves that we are searching for and how we can create it.

Thank you!
We are fortunate to have so many people to thank for their volunteer efforts. We want to take this time to thank our newer volunteers: Verna Barrientos, Laurel Frishman, and Dianne Baker for their amazing jobs as Zoom Worship Associates, Rob Carey for learning how to switch slides and play recordings for Zoom services, and Hugo Carr for designing our very first website. We couldn't have asked for a more wonderful 5th Year Anniversary gift than a brand new website! Please try it out at uucoastside.org and give us your feedback uucoastside@gmail.com . We continue to thrive because of our UUCC volunteers!
Joys & Concerns:
One of the ways we weave community is by sharing aspects of our lives with each other, our joys and concerns. For our upcoming service, please email your Joys & Concerns to uucoastside@gmail.com .

We Need You!
We’re looking for volunteers to help:

We seek a Social Media Coordinator who can manage our twice-monthly Newsletter and upload content to our website and Facebook page, a four hour commitment every two weeks. You can also help by sending us Newsletter content with poems, inspirational quotes, links to YouTube music videos, social action notices, and articles of interest to fill our newsletter with the diversity that makes UU stand apart from other faiths. Send your ideas to uucoastside@gmail.com .

We are hoping to train two more engineers to switch slides during our Zoom virtual services.

If you’d like to know more, please contact  uucoastside@gmail.com .
Thank you to all who have or continue to volunteer!
