Opportunity for Good:
Coastside Families Taking Action (CFTA) is a group devoted to making the San Mateo Coast a welcoming, supportive, active, and empowering place for children and families. CFTA envisions a Coastside that is diverse, progressive, sustainable, and equitable, a Coastside where differences are to be celebrated. CFTA seeks to engage children civically, so that they make the world a better place. Operating through topic-specific subcommittees, CFTA has active initiatives on affordable housing, anti-racism/allyship, education, environment, immigration, justice, public health, and voting/elections. For more information, visit their website at www.coastsidefamiliestakingaction.org/

UUCC Third Sunday Service, June 20th, 11am
In celebration of Pride month, UUCC's June 20 service previews one of CoastPride's Intergenerational Conversations, directed, filmed, and edited by our own Bruce Rafnel. This first installment features a conversation between two dancers, one recently retired and one right at the start of their career.

For this June 20 service, we are experimenting with a new format: Gallery View Sunday! The idea of this format is to have a service that is more casual, open, and interactive, one you can comfortably watch in Zoom's "Gallery View," and see everyone all at once.

For Gallery View Sundays, the order of service is simplified:
  • Chalice Lighting
  • Sharing of Joys and Concerns Live
  • Introduction to the Video
  • Screening of the CoastPride Video
  • Discussion Following
  • Conversations after the service.

Please join us at 11am PST. Pacific, 2pm Eastern.

UUCC First Sunday Service, July 4th, 11am
The Touchstones Theme for July is Journey. Back by popular demand, Kai Marks returns with a sermon entitled: “Finding the Hero Within: Exploring the Sacred Aspects of the Hero's Journey."
Join us as we explore how to be the protagonist in our own lives. Joseph Campbell said that heroes are people who dedicate their lives to something greater than themselves. What makes a hero in our world today, and how do we find something greater—either to connect with or to dedicate our lives to? How do we find meaning and purpose and make the world a better place for ourselves and each other?

Inspiring music will be provided by our music director Tom Devine, LindaGrace Frost, and the UUCC Choir.
Joys & Concerns:
One of the ways we weave community is by sharing aspects of our lives with each other, our joys and concerns. For our upcoming service, please email your Joys & Concerns to uucoastside@gmail.com.
Compassionate Caring Committee:
The UUCC Compassionate Caring Committee volunteers are often able to support our members during life events such as post-operative, illness, or can’t go out. Do you need food delivery or an errand run? Are you feeling loneliness, loss, or grief that a call might help?
Please contacuucoastside@gmail.com if you’d like support or if you want to volunteer.
