USSR in Construction is considered by many to be "the most visually exciting magazine of the 20th century".
Issues were published in large format with elaborate use of photomontage, die-cuts, foldouts and gatefolds. Vanguard designers included Rodchenko, Stepanova, Lissitzky, Telingater, Heartfield, Khodasevich, Favorsky and Troshin. The best Soviet photographers contributed to the journal.
