Massachusetts Youth Soccer Implementation of USSF Birth Year Mandates

Massachusetts Youth Soccer Executive Director Mike Borislow has prepared an extensive overview of the US Soccer development initiatives and how they will impact premier, travel and recreational organizations affiliated with Massachusetts Youth Soccer. Please read the statement linked below or visit our website for further details.
Impact on Town and Recreational Leagues

Players can still play with classmates. For the 2016/17 soccer year there will be a simple relabeling of group play from Age to Grade. The Grade group eligibility parameters will still be based on birth date ranges and the US Soccer labels for each player will be appropriately used. The only time a team playing in a Mass Youth Soccer town based recreational (in-town and travel) programs will need to swap out their Grade Group for the Age Group will be if they enter the team in a tournament sponsored by club that uses the Age Group labels. The age group chart linked below will be used by all Massachusetts Youth Soccer affiliated leagues and organizations for the 2016-17 soccer year.
