Dear
As of August 1, all US-based health insurance companies are required to offer lactation services at no additional charge to the patient as a covered health care benefit if the patient has a maternity benefit plan. This benefit will be phased into new policies with start dates after August 1. USLCA is offering you, the IBCLC, an opportunity to tune in and turn on the ability to be on the provider list for these insurance company mandates. Join us August 16, 2012, at 1pm EST as the USLCA offers its members an opportunity to receive education and information on the basics of insurance reimbursement and claim filing prior to the Aetna's information session scheduled for August 22, 2012. Gini Baker and Judith Gutowski will provide the nitty gritty of filing claims, reimbursement, requirements for credentialing by an insurer, and much more.
