Tips on Getting Textbooks
|
|
- Save 35-50% on the cost of course materials each term.
- Receive all your course materials before the first day of class.
- Benefit from a highly personalized concierge service.
- Check your USI email for your book list.
Things to Consider when Purchasing Course Materials from Outside Sources:
- Having the specific textbook may be beneficial in the future (e.g., another class or career).
- You may want highlight and/or write extensive notes in your textbooks.
- You may wish to start and/or add to your book collection.
- Make sure to know what course material the faculty selected for classes. Different faculty for the same course may use other textbooks.
-
Check the required books with the USI Campus Store before purchasing books from another student. The USI Campus Store has textbook information for each course.
- Sometimes books change from year to year. Check the ISBN number for the correct year and edition of the book.

Secure Wi-Fi is available across USI's campus. However, Wi-Fi is not as reliable as a wired connection and USI recommends not taking a test on Wi-Fi. Students, please do not bring other Wi-Fi devices on campus such as Wi-Fi printers or hot spots. These cause interference with the campus Wi-Fi and degrade the service for everyone.
|
|
USI provides a per-page-fee-printing system. Students must have FLEX Money on their Eagle Access Card to pay for printing. Students can pick up their print job from any lab or library printer regardless of where they printed from.

Microsoft Office 365
The University has subscribed to Office 365 to provide students and employees with a free copy of the Microsoft Office suite, which students can use on up to five devices. Your subscription will remain valid as long as you are a student or employed at the University of Southern Indiana.

USI provides many computing options for students including open labs and college specific labs across campus, the Rice Library, and the Recreational Fitness and Wellness Center. At the Rice Library, there are PC and Mac laptops and iPads available for loan. Additionally, students can bring their own PC or Mac computers or laptops to campus (tablets are good for many things, but should not be considered a full replacement for a computer).
|
|
Blackboard is a course management system used by USI faculty and students. Students can access course materials their professors make available and participate in class discussions online. To access and learn more about Blackboard, click below. Please note that some courses may not be available until the first week of class.

My name is Ashley Rubacha, and I am a sophomore here at USI. I am a marketing major and I am from Bedford, Indiana. I am an Orientation Leader and a Welcome Week Leader as well. I enjoy going to the gym, hanging out with friends, and taking vacations. I have been a cheerleader for 13 years and I was a cheerleader at USI last year. I am also a huge theatre lover, and have been in musicals since I was little. My latest role was Sharpay Evans in High School Musical.
