Major USF award helps Floridians better navigate health care

The COPH understands and can guide people through the maze that is America’s health care system. How? The college has received a major federal grant to educate and enroll Florida citizens for insurance under the Affordable Care Act, through the Health Insurance Marketplace and other qualified health plans such Medicaid and CHIP.

USF summer ventures span the globe with innovative research project

With funding from the National Science Foundation, a team of USF engineers and public health experts spent the summer in Madagascar. Since 2022, the interdisciplinary team, which includes students, has been working together to improve water quality in Toamasina.

Alumnus Dr. Nolan Kline uses anthropology to ‘see the big picture’ in health career

USF alumnus Dr. Nolan Kline has used his training and educational knowledge obtained from earning doctoral and master’s degrees from the USF College of Arts and Sciences Department of Anthropology and a master's in public health from the COPH as the basis for his career addressing social and health issues.

Grant Award Shout-out


The CDC National Institutes for Occupational Safety and Health renewed their award for the interdisciplinary Sunshine Education and Research Center (ERC) for Occupational Safey, Health and Well-being. Dr. Jennifer Marshall, director and principal investigator, will receive $1.8M annually on behalf of the ERC.

2024 Bulls Disaster Camp


Bulls Disaster Camp is a collaboration between USF YXP, College of Public Health, USF Emergency Management and TGH Aeromed. This one-week interactive summer camp brings emergency prep and response to life with activities like Stop-the-Bleed and CPR certifications, fire suppression training, hurricane and inclement weather information, crisis communications training and more!
