2020 Year-End Edition
A Word from the President
It is a real honor for me to serve as President of this great association and to be part of USAHA’s mission to develop and promote sound animal health solutions for public good. 2020 has brought historic challenges for all of us including unique challenges for USAHA. USAHA and AAVLD held a virtual annual meeting this year despite COVID. The virtual meeting was successful due to the efforts of staff, the executive committees of both associations, the committees, the meeting planners and all of you. The virtual meeting continued to allow for a forum to take place to develop solutions for current animal health issues that impact the United States and the world. Its likely that COVID will change the way all of us will conduct business in the future. COVID has also emphasized the importance of disease prevention and control planning for both humans and animals, the One Health concept and the important work of this association. I encourage you to stay engaged with the association. Thank you all for your contributions to the USAHA. I’m looking forward to interacting in person once this pandemic is over.

Happy Holidays!
-Charlie Hatcher
Highlights from the 2020 USAHA Virtual Meeting
The 2020 USAHA Meeting was held virtually with success, in spite of the challenges of COVID-19, and missed opportunities to gather in person. Nearly 1,600 individuals participated in the virtual platform this year between USAHA and AAVLD, a high mark for engaging those interested in animal health. Thanks to those that participated, and especially our leadership and committee chairs, and staffs for the extra effort in providing a platform for the meeting this year.

USAHA produced 13 unique resolutions for 2020, which have been distributed to appropriate stakeholders. Learn more about each resolution here:

Other highlights include the passing of an updated bylaws, which modernized language for current operations and addressed interim succession of officer vacancies, should they occur.
