Smile wide and celebrate National Oral Health Month this June, a time to raise awareness of the importance of oral health and hygiene! The ACO has made it easier than ever to refer your patients to dental care with the new Massgov Health and Human Services Find a Dentist page. More information about MassHealth dental benefits can be found here. Patients can also call (800) 207-5019.

DIO was happy to host a table at the Juneteenth Festival in Institute Park this last Saturday teaching children the importance of health and wellbeing. More Juneteenth events are also happening today in the Albert Sherman Center Lobby from 11am-2pm, featuring t-shirt designs, southern dishes, and information about how to best show support and solidarity for Black lives.

As we also celebrate Pride Month, we would like to thank Dr. Morris for her wonderful presentation on Underrepresentation in Medicine and LGBTQ+ awareness during Grand Rounds last Tuesday. These conversations are important, and ones which we should continue to have as our diverse learners strive towards success in higher education.

As the end of the school year draws near, we are happy to announce Summer EBT, a support service for low-income families with school aged children to help buy food while schools are closed for the summer. Summer EBT will be put on EBT cards for most students on July 25th. Most students do not need to apply for Summer EBT, but those who do need to apply will receive funds based on when they do. For more information or questions, visit mass.gov/summerebt or call 855-425-8770.
