Detection of traumatic stress in the presence of traumatic experiences: The role of resilience factors in foster care children five years or younger

IPH Center faculty Drs. Kimberly Tumlin, Elizabeth Riley, and John Lyons published in the International Journal of Mental Health Systems on the role of resilience in the factors in the detection of traumatic stress among children in foster care five years or younger.

Children younger than five years of age comprised approximately 30% in 2020 of foster care entries in the United States, and they are consistently the largest foster care entry group. Very young children can respond differently to the same adverse life events. Detection of complex interpersonal traumas is core to providing appropriate interventions and prevention of reoccurring negative outcomes in these children.

"WhatIPH?" Seminar: What IPH AI Held the Key to Advancing Global Population Health?

HSR.health has developed a geospatial health risk analytics platform with a generative AI conversational, prompt-based user interface that utilizes purpose-built LLMs and patented ML algorithms to predict health outcomes. The platform utilizes alternative health data related to climate change, social and environmental determinants of health, as well as traditional data related to chronic health conditions, to predict the future health posture of populations. The insights provided aid in developing mitigation strategies and allow an efficient and equitable allocation of limited resources to those at the highest risk. This talk will discuss the opportunities and challenges to equitably and successfully leverage AI in advancing global population health.
