  • GOOGLE FIBER: Microtrench work that began in May is in progress and is scheduled to be completed by the end of June. Fiber placement and additional vault remediation work will continue over the coming months & residents will be able to begin signing up for Google Fiber service in November/December.  Uhills Recognizes Black American History and Traditions

 

  • Free Ice Cream for first 100 people-and Kick-off ceremony at Noon


  • Catered Lunch from Bred’s Hot Chicken for purchase Noon until 5 PM


  • Book Fair through Arvida Books featuring a wide variety of titles celebrating Black Culture, History, and Accomplishment. Selected recent works by UCI authors of color and book talks Noon until 5 PM.


  • Children’s activities designed by Uhills’ Andrea Miller throughout the day

 

  • Griot (Storyteller Michael McCarty) on the Community Center Patio 12:30 PM


  • Physical Trainer and Martial Arts Instructor Samuel Wellington will lead a workshop for all ages incorporating Martial Arts/Drumming/ African inspired Dance/Sound Healing Therapies/Meditation in the Community Center Main Room and Terrace 2 PM

 

  • Concert featuring a quintet from the Afro-American Chamber Music Society celebrating Black composers 5 to 6 PM in the Community Center Main Room and Terrace


  • Videos highlighting the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s current Harlem Renaissance Exhibit and the history of Juneteenth in the media lounge ongoing.
