ABOUT TY SUNDERLAND:

One of dance music’s most important personalities, the DJ and producer Ty Sunderland has skyrocketed into the upper echelons of dance culture with a fervent following, trademark sound and a stunning rise from underground party promoter and DJ to a bona fide global force bubbling into the mainstream.  Anointed by Dua Lipa as a “Titan of Queer nightlife” with BuzzFeed calling him “New York City’s Biggest Queer DJ,” Sunderland’s foundational vision single-handedly coalesced the Big Apple queer scene with his iconic Heaven on Earth affairs, an underground late-night bash at the restaurant China Chalet which GQ called a “party epicenter.” Laying the foundation for a community-building universe, Ty’s nightlife footprint has exploded into a series of viral themed boat-bashes, as well as the popular parties Ty Tea, Love Prism, Devil’s Playground, the latter having counted Ava Max and Natasha Bedingfield as special guests. In addition to his gargantuan annual Planet Pride, Sunderland has made memorable appearances nationwide, from opening for Jessie Ware on her That! Feels Good! Tour to a memorable set at Coachella, along the way appearing with fellow tastemakers Galantis, Kim Petras and Rebecca Black.

In tandem, Sunderland has produced a series of inescapable official remixes for a bevy of superstars, from his spin on Kelly Clarkson’s emotional “mine” from her acclaimed album Chemistry to Faouzia’s earth-shaking “La La La” and VINCINT’s energetic love anthem “Higher.” It’s no wonder why everyone from The New York Times to PAPER has showered Sunderland with praise as he continues his relentless march upwards and further bridges the gap between a community he helped create and the culture he vibrantly fosters.

ABOUT JAKE RESNICOW:
