Thoughts from the John Hancock Professional Athlete Field
Jared Ward
Olympic marathoner Jared Ward returns to Boston three years after finishing in eighth place. We asked Jared what's special about the Boston Marathon.

"Because the Boston Marathon is Boston! When you introduce Meb, or Lebron, you need only say the first name. Boston is the only marathon in the world in which all you need to say is “I’m running Boston” and people know what you mean. In 2019 I led the race through Wellesley and I will never forget the feeling. I dream of cresting Heartbreak Hill, in the hunt with the leaders."
