Best Practices to help cadets transition to Two-Factor Authentication
- Identify a cadet or senior in the unit who can assist with 2FA transition help
- Host an assembly for your membership and cadet parents to explain the transition
- Offer a time during the weekly meeting to help families of cadets who need 2FA setup help
- Remind cadets to make sure they include a variety of emails/phone numbers in their 2FA setup:
- Include a school email if they need to access eServices during the school day (some school routers will block emails external to their network)
- Include a home email (their own and/or a parent)
- Include their cell phone and a parent if needed
- Remind cadets how to change these settings when their phone, phone number or email changes
Best Practices for Squadron Leaders
- Have the cadet call the parent if the cadet needs the code and they utilize a family/parent contact
- Having a testing officer proctor with a hardcopy test if a cadet needs testing access and they do not remember their password or have access for 2FA
Thank you for supporting the cadets,
