Where Public & Art Intersect
Turtle Murals Under Construction

Vibrant, colorful bayou wildlife scenes now adorn Greens Bayou Trail at Greens Road and Imperial Valley Drive. North Houston District is expanding our Public Art Program with UP Art Studio!

Here's the skinny: In 2021, the District adopted a Public Art Program to invest in community amenities that add to our region's appeal and attractiveness. As part of those efforts, new murals are underway at nine trail art segments. The artwork will appear as the trail approaches the road and the medians, but not on the street. Artists finished the section near Imperial Valley Drive and moved to the trail near Greens Road, which is adjacent to Thomas R. Wussow Park. If you're in the area, please snap a photo and share it with us!

The District is pleased to partner with our friends at UP Art Studio, well-known in Greater Houston for creating beautiful public spaces and working with Houston's most talented artists—Public & Art Intersect in the North Houston District.

National Night Out Award
For the second year running, the National Association of Town Watch announced that the North Houston District was honored in its National Night Out Awards program, recognizing communities for outstanding participation and engagement during the annual event.

"I'm incredibly proud," said Tracy Harrison, Vice President of Public Safety. "National recognition means we, as a community, have one of the best National Night Outs in the country. We thank our law enforcement, partners, and sponsors who contribute and make it so successful."
Harrison is pictured with North Houston District Public Safety Committee members, including law enforcement from Aldine ISD, Harris County Sheriff's Office, and Houston Police Department, as well as community partners from Green House International Church, The Harvest, Villa Serena Communities, and the North Houston District Board of Directors.
