Tryon Medical Partners Team News
Coronavirus Edition
Special Message From CEO Dr. Dale Owen
It is hard to believe how much has changed in 6 weeks. Our leadership team has been aggressively planning for coronavirus since January. This virus has drastically affected our personal and professional lives.

First and foremost, I want to say how proud I am to be 1 of you and the entire Tryon Medical Partners team. We have been quick to adapt and are committed to doing what it takes to keep our patients informed, safe and healthy.

I also want to acknowledge the team partners who unfortunately are no longer employed with us. They are close personal friends and many tears have been shed by us all. The Board of Directors and I wrestled with this gut-wrenching decision, but knew we had to respond to the new medical practice challenges for the health of our organization during this pandemic.
We built Tryon Medical Partners to be nimble and responsive to meet the needs of our patients.  Coronavirus has proven to be a destructive and powerful foe. But we were made for this moment. While many others have faded and hidden in the crevices, we have risen to the occasion and stood our ground on the front lines. We are leading and setting the path to follow. This is a great time of uncertainty, but it is also a time of great opportunity to show the world who we are. I am happy to say we all have some very exciting things on our horizon.

We are going to get through this together, and we will be better for it. Until then, take care of yourself, your loved ones and each other.
Please remember that EAP is a Tryon Medical Partners sponsored benefit that offers support and resources for personal and work-related challenges and concerns.

Team Partner Focus: Virtual Visit
It's extremely important for all team partners to encourage patients to convert their existing appointments to virtual visits instead of cancelling them!
Tryon Medical Partners' Virtual Visit: Stay Home. Stay Well.
Tryon Medical's Virtual Visit is convenient and easy to use for most patients looking to connect with internal medicine doctors and specialists. Step-by-step instructions on how to self-schedule and access a scheduled appointment are on the Virtual Visit webpage.

In these unprecedented times, ALL virtual visits will be billed as regular in-person office visits by Blue Cross/Blue Shield (BCBS), UnitedHealthcare (UHC), Cigna, Aetna and Medicare/Medicaid. Virtual visits will be paid under the terms of the patient's coverage.

All insurance plans will cover virtual visits for new patients. Patients should call the office to register and give insurance information, and can then schedule a virtual visit as a new patient.
What Is Virtual Urgent Care?
Virtual Urgent Care is for new and existing patients who have immediate concerns, like allergies, fever, sore throat, cough, difficulty breathing and COVID-19 symptoms. This is one of the main ways we refer patients to our satellite locations. Major insurance policies treat virtual visits as regular office visits, which means Virtual Urgent Care is usually cheaper for the patient than going to an in-person urgent care facility.
