TRIPS & TOURS

WINTER/SPRING 2024

"We are all connected in the Great Circle of Life." - Mufasa, Lion King

Memories from 2023!

A Note from Abid, Program Coordinator

It has been a busy year for travel in 2023! This past year, the City of Concord's Recreation Services Department has seen extraordinary demand for travel programming! Since January 2023, we have been able to transport over 1,000 passengers on over 20 memorable day trips all around the Northern California area! We have traveled to many places this year, including: DeYoung Museum, Monterey Bay Aquarium, Squabisch Pretzels, Japantown, Grand Island Mansion, Broadway Theatres, Dandelion Chocolate Factory, Apple Hill Farms, Fleet Week Air Show, and even tried our luck at various casinos!

A heartfelt thank you to the community for joining us on these journeys in 2023! Your happiness and excitement before, during, and after each adventure makes these travel programs truly special. Hosting these events for the community has been an absolute pleasure, and we're looking forward to many more adventures and smiles in the new year!

Keep an eye out for what's coming next! We're busy planning new trips and destinations for the upcoming year, such as unique tours, Broadway shows, regional festivals, overnight trips, and much more! Your suggestions and feedback are incredibly important to us, so please share your thoughts by completing this survey or picking up a paper survey at the Concord Senior Center. Your input guides us in making our Trips & Tours even better!

We hope everyone has a Happy New Year!

Recent Trip Updates

Broadway Lion King

Earlier this month, we took a group of 55 passengers to the Orpheum Theatre for a showing of The Lion King on Broadway! Everyone was thrilled and excited for the show and it did not disappoint!

Due to high demand for this show, we were able to book a second trip for this show on Saturday, December 30th! After reaching out to everyone from the wait list, we were able to offer almost everyone a seat for this new show date. This bus is now currently full and a wait list for this show date has already been growing. If space becomes available through either extra tickets or withdrawals, then we will contact persons on the wait list to join on a first-come first-served basis.
