Easter Jamboree

Trinity's Fellowship and Outreach team is excited to host our second Easter Jamboree on April 1st from 12:30pm-3:30pm. It is a fun event for families to learn about Jesus during Holy Week leading up to His resurrection on Easter Sunday. The Fellowship/Outreach Ministry Team are requesting help for supplies to help make this event a success, specifically the funds to rent a bounce house for one of the activities. We need about $350 for this activity. Please make sure to direct any monetary donations towards the Fellowship and Outreach team.

Volunteers for this event are also needed! Please use the sign-up sheet in the narthex to help out. Questions? Contact Terry Boggs at

Fellowship of Christian Athletes at Trinity Downtown!

Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) Trinity Youth Ministry (TYM) is a new and exciting opportunity for 6th through 8th grade students in our local community to come together in a fun environment to build relationships with one another and with Jesus. Volunteers and participants will enjoy dinner together, followed by worship, games, and an open gym in the beautiful facilities provided by our Lord at Trinity Lutheran Church in downtown Orlando. FCA TYM will meet in Trinity’s fellowship hall and gymnasium, from 6pm-8pm one Sunday per month.

Young Adults Fellowship

Trinity is thrilled to host a new fellowship group for young adults!

The next gathering will be held on Saturday, April 15, from 4pm-6pm in Trinity's parish hall. We will be getting in touch with our artistic side by doing a craft and playing some games. Come and enjoy food, fun, and fellowship with other young adults from Trinity.

Please RSVP to Ethan Kallesen at 407-538-8485.

New Foundations Class

Trinity will be offering a Foundations Class beginning April 15. If you or someone you know is interested in joining Trinity or wants information about the Lutheran faith, this is the class for you! An introduction to Christian teaching and the Lutheran faith, the purpose of this class is to provide the information needed to understand what Lutherans believe and decide whether Trinity is the church for you. Joining Trinity after completing this class is not required, but our hope is that you will find this to be a wonderful community where you can be involved and grow spiritually.

Meetings will occur Saturdays, April 15-May 27 from 4:00pm-5:30pm in Loggia 2 with a new member welcome on May 28. If you are interested in the class or need more information, please RSVP by April 10, 2023 by emailing the church office.

Upcoming Blood Drive

Trinity is happy to partner once again with OneBlood to host a blood drive on April 30 from 9am-2pm in front of the church! This is an amazing opportunity to donate blood and help others.

The process to give blood is simple and only takes about 30-45 minutes. This drive is not limited to just Trinity members, staff, or CDC families, but is open for anyone who would like to come and donate.

Have questions? Contact the church office.

Zip Lines

We are excited to be relaunching our Zip Line ministry! Zip lines are an opportunity for families to connect with others who live in their zip code for encouragement, fellowship, and assistance. We want everyone to have a community of people around them for support and encouragement, and this ministry is one way we can help foster that.

Are you interested in being a zip line coordinator? Please contact Darlene Sabin at to express interest or for additional information.

Sponsor a Child's Bible

Do you know the purpose statement of Trinity's Child Development Center? We are very, very grateful for what Trinity Downtown is able to provide to local children and families through the CDC. The purpose statement is:

Trinity Lutheran School's Child Development Center

nurtures the development of the whole child

from a core foundation of faith,

preparing them spiritually, academically, socially, and emotionally

in partnership with their family

for future academic success and to lead purpose-filled lives for Christ.

We are thrilled to have earned a score of 98.31 out of 100 possible points from our National Lutheran School Accreditation Self Study. An 80% overall score is required for recommendation to the National Lutheran School Accreditation in Good Standing.

In keeping with our purpose, each year Trinity Downtown gives a brand new children's Bible, The Jesus Storybook Bible, to every child who graduates from our four VPK classes. As these children leave our Lutheran child care center and begin Kindergarten at a new school, we send with them, and their families, the best gift we can give - a foundation of faith, nurturing, and the Word of God -- with a note inside that will remind them for years to come of their Trinity Family!

Each Bible is $10 or a case of 20 for $200. Please consider sponsoring one or more Bibles for these children. Checks can be sent to the office or dropped in the offering plate with VPK BIBLES written in the memo line.

Prayerful Thoughts from Rusty Stephens

Heavenly Father,

We pray in the name of Your Son our Savior, Jesus Christ.

There is a saying used by many which is, “Seeing is Believing”. Years ago a celebrity was asked, “Do you believe in God”? The response was, “I only believe in things that I can see”. Meaning, I have not seen God with my own eyes, so I do not believe. Lord, You created air for us to breathe, to feel blowing in our face, to see the tree leaves moving, but we cannot see the air itself. Does this mean that air does not exist? That would be very foolish thinking, God. So why would anyone question Your existence just because they haven’t physically seen You?

In the book of John chapter 20, after You, Jesus, had risen, then returned to the disciples, Thomas who had not yet seen You since before You were crucified, did not believe the other disciples as they told him that You had returned. Even though Thomas had seen and been with You so many times, Jesus, he still had to see You with his own eyes. Then, Jesus, when Thomas physically saw You and Your wounds, he said, “My Lord and my God”! Jesus, You responded by saying, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed”.

We as Christians, Lord, know that You are very real and that You created everything. We know this from the Bible which is Your guided and inspired word. Your words and actions in the Bible have never been disproven, though many have tried. Just because someone says and believes that You, Lord, don’t exist, does not mean that they speak the truth. Perhaps they never had an opportunity to know You, or they have been misinformed, or worse yet have a dislike for You, God. If a person views You in this way and won’t listen and accept the truth, then all we can do is pray for them, that someday before it’s too late their mind and heart will be opened to let the Holy Spirit enter in.

Jesus, when we believe, trust, and confess our sins to you, we feel Your presence as that burden of our sins is lifted from us and we are free of blame through total forgiveness. This is refreshing to us much like a refreshing breeze on a warm day from air that we cannot see. Even as the world comes at us with temptations and harm, we may suffer from it for a time but we know that You, Jesus, are always with us loving, guiding, and healing our mental and physical wounds. Then, when our bodies can no longer be healed and You call us home, we are confident that the struggles of this life have ended and that we are guaranteed an eternal home with You, Jesus, and all believers. A home absent of all the problems and difficulties of this life and full of the most wonderful things that we could ever imagine or dream of. This being forever.

Meanwhile for the ones that think they have to physically see You, Lord, before they will believe; unless they come to You, Jesus, truly believing and sincerely confessing their sins to You before their earthly life ends, they will be encountering someone else that they haven’t physically seen and most likely also don’t believe exist. He goes by the name of Satan. Their eternity will be the opposite of Heaven. A place much more terrible than the worst in this life and full of a horror far greater than the most frightening nightmares. This also is forever.

Thank You so much, Jesus, for Your sacrifice and the cleansing forgiveness from it so that we can be in the presence of our wonderful and loving Heavenly Father. Even though we have not physically seen You in this life, Jesus, we know that we are very blessed with your guarantee of the eternal gift of Heaven. Jesus, isn’t there something not accurate with the statement, “seeing is believing”? For all of us that follow You, Jesus, it becomes, “BELIEVING IS SEEING”!

Lord In Your Mercy
