A note from Pastor Doug

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

“I was glad when they said unto me, “Let us go to the House of the Lord!” Ps. 122:1

Easter was great; it was wonderful to see so many who had come to praise the Lord for Holy Week and Easter services. Thank you to everyone who helped make it happen. It was truly wonderful! A special thank you to Pastor Eduardo.

I also want to make you aware that I will be having foot & ankle surgery on May 9. Please pray for me and Desiree. The full recovery is lengthy but during the 16 to 18 weeks estimated I will be, by the grace of God, getting better throughout this time and will be able to attend services and preach after approximately 4 weeks. (The first several weeks are non weight bearing). I plan to work from home also during this recovery time and will attend meetings as I am able that necessitate my presence.

I have tried therapy, orthotics, and other special exercises and therapies for over three years with limited relief. Recently it has worsened.  The orthopedic surgeon told me that if I have surgery I will have greater mobility and can lead a more normal and pain free life. I look forward to returning to Trinity with greater mobility and less pain to complete the work the Lord has assigned. I look forward to our future together and I plan to be in the best shape possible to do so. Thank you for your prayers, encouragement and support!

In the time before my surgery I will be working with our leadership and staff to prepare for upcoming events including the call process.  God bless each of you and our Trinity ministry.

Pastor Doug

From the Call Committee:

Continuing with the process of evaluating candidates, the Call Committee has reduced the list to the following four candidates:

  • Rev. Eduardo Martinez
  • Rev. Jonathan van Sliedrecht
  • Rev. Timothy Eden
  • Rev. Nicholas Koschmann

Our next step will be to conduct interviews with each of the candidates. After that, the top candidates will be invited in to meet the congregation.

A document with information on each of the candidates is available in the church office. As this document contains sensitive information, it cannot be copied, photographed, or removed from the church office; however, any members of the congregation are welcome to view it in the church office.

Opportunity to Host an Intern

An LCMS Pastor's daughter is looking for a room to rent this summer while she is in town for an internship. She needs housing from May 20 to August 16 and would be in Orlando during the week and going home for most weekends. If you have a room or space in which you would like to host her or if you have any questions, contact the church office.

Young Adults Meeting

Come join us on May 11 for a fun Murder Mystery Night edition of the Young Adults group. Come dressed up and in character. Please RSVP to Claudia by May 1st to receive your character bio. Elegant themed potluck to accompany the evening's activity.

Stewardship Drive

Trinity is now conducting our annual stewardship campaign. Within the next week, you should receive the stewardship letter sent to your home. The incorrect pledge card was sent out accidentally, so please use the following pledge card instead:

VBS

Due to staff and volunteer schedules, Trinity WILL NOT be hosting VBS this year. Prince of Peace has graciously offered for our children to attend their VBS. We appreciate your understanding.

Volunteer Dinner

A group of Trinity's many faithful volunteers gathered last Sunday to enjoy fellowship and a delicious spaghetti dinner prepared by Chef Rich. Group by group,  we stood for applause and recognition for a job well done. Each attendee received a bag of goodies provided by our local Thrivent agent Josh Langholz. We heard about the importance of our volunteers in keeping the ministries of Trinity working smoothly; all jobs are important in the work of the church. Pastor Doug thanked everyone for their hard work and encouraged us to invite others to join us in our volunteering. We are thankful to Thrivent for their $250 Action Grant to cover the cost of the meal.
