“The table was the place where Jesus fed people, but also challenged them to acts of hospitality that reflect God’s way. When we say “yes” to the place at THIS table, we accept a way of life that embraces God’s definition of love, peace, grace, and joy. Let us celebrate the depth of communion and the breadth of connection to which we are called.” (adapted) Marcia McFee

May the peace of deep belonging settle upon you,

the abundance of life’s goodness surround you,

the warmth of divine delight burn within you.

May the light of gentle wisdom guide you,

the courage of forgiveness set you free,

the wings of gratitude lift you.

May your listening deepen,

your trust in grace flourish,

your joy be unleashed.

Beloved, the Mystery envelops you,

the Wonder embraces you,

the breath of life flows through you always.

Update on our Capital Campaign

Trinity members and friends have responded generously to our request for capital

contributions. Through July, we have received 15 pledges for over $120,000 to be

paid over a 4-year period. Still, those commitments leave us well short of our

stated target of $210,000. As a result, we are undertaking the process of scaling

back our aspirations about the capital projects we can expect to undertake.

As we begin that process, there is still time to make a pledge, if you have not

already done so, or to update plans you have already made. Gifts of all sizes are

welcome, and can be made in a single lump sum or can be spread over a 4-year

period (from 2023 to 2026).

Thank you!

For Everyone Born (A Place at the Table)

by Shirley Erena Murray

Windemere United Church Toronto

Verse 1

For ev'ryone born, a place at the table,

For ev'ryone born, clean water and bread,

A shelter, a space, a safe place for growing,

For ev'ryone born, a star overhead.

And God will delight when we are creators of justice

And joy, compassion and peace:

Yes, God will delight when we are creators of justice,

Justice and joy.

Verse 2

For genders diverse, a place at the table

Revising the roles, deciding to share

With wisdom and grace all sharing the power

For genders diverse, a system that’s fair.

Verse 3

For young and for old, a place at the table,

A voice to be heard, a part in the song,

The hands of a child in hands that are wrinkled,

For young and for old, the right to belong.

Verse 4

For just and unjust, a place at the table,

Abuser, abused, with need to forgive,

In anger, in hurt, a mindset of mercy,

For just and unjust, a new way to live.

Verse 5

For ev'ryone born, a place at the table,

To live without fear, and simply to be,

To work, to speak out, to witness and worship,

For ev'ryone born, the right to be free.

And God will delight when we are creators of justice,

And joy, compassion and peace:

Yes, God will delight when we are creators of justice,

Justice and joy.
