This summer, join us in spreading love, hope, kindness through giving. Your support helps us continue our mission of serving others, nurturing faith, and fostering a spirit of community. Together, we can make a meaningful difference. Your contributions, no matter the size, are a vital part of our shared journey towards a more compassionate, connected world.

You can make a donation anytime in-person, during Sunday services, or online by clicking here.

Thank you for being a beacon of light in our community!

Ministry Training

July 13th

9:00 am -10:30 am

Training for anyone who would like to become a lay reader or who would like to learn how to acolyte.

The training is easy and fun! All ages welcome!

Please note, if you already serve as a reader or acolyte, you do not need to attend this training.

Questions? See Mother Cynthia +

Following the Training

After the training session on the 13th, roughly around 10:30 am, we'll be holding a "brainstorming" meeting for anyone interested in working on welcoming newcomers! Please join us in thinking up new ways to invite others to do cool stuff with us during and after summer!

Questions? Contact Mother Cynthia+ at cynthia@trinity-fredericksburg.org.

Notes from the Edge

One of Trinity’s greatest strengths is the generosity embodied in our Outreach Programs.

Our current project we are working on this Summer is Rise Against Hunger.

Our goal for Rise Against Hunger is $4,200 and to date we have collected $570. We are scheduled to complete that project on August 24th and pack 10,000 meals. As someone who has participated in this project, I can attest to the fun and fellowship involved in this event. Please consider helping us meet our goal and give strong consideration to participating in this very worthwhile event.

Wishing everyone a safe and enjoyable 4th of July.

On behalf of the entire Vestry, thank you for your continued financial support.

July Outreach Update

So far this year, we have served over 600 families at Outreach – that’s probably at least 1000 people, though we keep records by family and not by individuals. Most families have two or more people; one regular patron has seven in his family, including five children of school age. We have paid out more than $16,000 so far this year for overdue water, electric, and natural gas bills. In most cases the service had been or was about to be disconnected. Sometimes our $100 is enough to persuade the utility company not to disconnect the service right then, buying the patron a little time to find some more money for the overdue bill. We provide names and phone numbers of other agencies that may help, and they likewise give our phone number to their needy clients.

Thanks to your overwhelming response, we have lots of tuna, rice, and pasta at the moment. We now need peanut butter, jelly, canned fruit, canned and dried beans – black, brown, white, red, whatever you have or want to purchase for us. We have plenty of cat food – our Trinity cats are very picky eaters and donate a lot of their unused food to others! Apparently Trinity dogs have healthy appetites so we don’t have any dog food right now but could use some. We can also use things like snack bars, candy bars, little snack-like things. We especially enjoy giving those  to the children who come to visit.

We never know what will be available from the Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank when our shoppers make the weekly order, and sometimes we have to supplement with a few items from Walmart. Your generosity means our funds go much further than they might otherwise.

Last week someone gave us some new pencils and crayons and a man who likes to sketch was overwhelmed with gratitude at receiving those. A person who had recently immigrated to the US was thrilled to find a pin with the US flag someone had donated. And books are greatly valued by the kids and adults who visit, especially by grandmothers who sometimes take them to their grandchildren.

We who work in Outreach can’t thank you enough for all you give to us. The need seems to increase on a monthly basis and we believe God is directing us in this work.

Rise Against Hunger Meal Packing Event

We are looking to raise $4,200, which will provide 10,152 meals.

Please consider making a contribution via the Trinity website in the drop down “Rise Against Hunger” or placing a check in the offering plate with “Rise Against Hunger” in the memo line.

Information for sign up will be posted as the date gets closer.

The Trinity Outreach Committee Needs Your Help

Thanks for your wonderful generosity in stocking our food pantry for Outreach!

We are having record numbers of patrons, and the Food Bank, for whatever reason, is low on food right now.

These items would be most helpful to us:

  • Canned fruit
  • Canned beans – black, brown, white, whatever color -- or packages of dried brown, pinto, white beans
  • Jelly
  • Peanut Butter
  • Treats of various kinds – you can clean out your odds and ends of protein or cereal bars, bags of chips, cheese or peanut butter crackers, etc.
  • Diapers, both adult and baby/toddler sizes
  • Dog food

News from Trinity’s Library

There will be some exciting changes in the library over the next several months as we create a new “Kids Corner” to the left of the couch with a shelving carousel designed to hold books, toys and games.

The basic layout of the library, however, will remain the same. Stay tuned for additional information on this new initiative to make the library more fun and accessible to our young folks.  Need a good beach read? We are adding more new fiction to our collection. For example, have you read any books by Ann Cleeves? She is one of the best British mystery crime writers. She wrote the Shetland Island and Vera series and several of her books are now in the new book rack.

Remember, Trinity’s library is available to you weekday mornings, on Sundays or any other time you happen to be in the building.

We are not in the position to accept gift books at this time. Some of you have been putting them in the Return Box. This box is only for books that have been borrowed and returned. You can keep the library looking its best by not leaving cups and other personal things in the library when you leave. There is a waste basket in the corner of the library and if your cup has liquid dispose of it in one of the restrooms.

If you have rearranged the chairs or brought in additional chairs for your meeting, please put the furniture back as originally found. This is your library. Let’s all take pride in the space. Thanks!
