All Saints' Interfaith Forum
April 17 | 8:00 a.m.
All Saints' Episcopal Day School
Barbara I & II rooms
You are invited to join members at All Saints' Episcopal School and church in an interfaith conversation on Wednesday, April 17 at 8:00 a.m.
There will be a panel of six speakers representing the Hindu, Buddhist, Islamic, Judaic, Christian, and Sikh faiths. Each of our panelists will share their thoughts and answer questions around this topic: What spring holiday or celebration does your religion practice, and why is it important to your faith?
Please be aware that this starts around the morning dropoff time, so traffic may be congested around the school.
Anyone with questions may contact Trinity member and All Saints' religion teacher Jennifer Sprague at jsprague@allsaints.org.

The Commentary
Dear Ones,
I pray you're well and that Easter is providing you renewed energy to serve the world in the Risen Christ's name!
I want to give you a bit of an update on our HVAC situation that I've mentioned the last couple weeks during our announcements in worship.
For those who don't know yet, our HVAC system (which serves the entirety of our property) has given up the ghost! Winter has meant some minor space heaters have worked, but we know that this solution won't work when our heat begins to rise. We have funding for stage 1 of our repairs: half from our investment funds and half from a low-interest loan from the diocese. This will provide a chiller for us so that by mid-June, we should have air again. Repairs for stage 1 will begin on May 4.

Lectio Divina Gathering
April 28 | 1:00 p.m.
Tea Room
All are invited to attend this month's gathering of Lectio Divina, an ancient contemplative practice where members gather to reflect and meditate on passages from scripture.
It differs from church traditions and services in that participants strive to interact with the quietness of Spirit, and access their faith practice from within and with fellow participants. The group meets on the fourth Sunday of every month in the early afternoon.

Desert Diversity: April Olney Gallery Exhibit |
Steven Derks worked for the Arizona Department of Agriculture, which resulted in his appreciation for the aesthetic diversity of cactus and succulents. While photographing a saguaro cactus from an overhead perspective, he aligned the plant’s spines to reveal its bio-symmetry. “Cacti are so remarkable in their symmetry that it is difficult to believe they are living things. I’m endlessly fascinated by these expressions of nature.” His work can be found in museums and private art collections in the United States and abroad. His work was displayed in the Oval Office during the Clinton administration.
The Southwest Society of Botanical Artists (SWSBA) Is an Arizona-based chapter of The American Society of Botanical Artists (ASBA). Botanical Art accurately and artistically depicts plants in a way that would allow a botanist to identify the species portrayed. They also do Scientific Illustration, a sub-discipline of Botanical Art usually intended for publishing. This exhibition is intended to raise awareness and appreciation of plants native to Arizona, their beauty, and their diversity.

Urban Nocturnes Concert
April 21 | 4:00 p.m.
Cathedral
Trinity’s Resident Ensemble, Urban Nocturnes, returns for their spring concert, featuring Karen Sinclair, Christopher McKay, Melita Hunsinger and Erin Finkelstein, on April 21.
All four kick off the program with the Quartet in E-flat Major by 19th Century Finnish composer and clarinetist Berhard Crusell, a rare late-Classical exploration of clarinet chamber music. This is followed by German-Dutch composer Julius Röntgen’s String Trio No. 2 “Dvorak,” a lilting and indulgent fantasia.
In the second part of the program, the soulful colors of the clarinet and viola entwine in Rebecca Clarke’s Prelude, Allegro and Pastorale, composed in the 1940s, and Jewish-Austrian Hans Gál’s Serenade for
Clarinet, Violin and Cello combines Romantic lyricism with Modern chromaticism.
Tickets are $25 and student discount tickets are $10 (must present valid student ID at the door). Both are available online and at the door.
This Concert is Sponsored by The Trinity Music Guild. To purchase tickets and for more information on this and other Music at Trinity concerts,

Trinity Quilters Gathering |
April 20 | 10:00 a.m.
Trinity Quilters use their talents to transform pieces of fabric into creative quilts. Once a quilt is finished complete with prayer ties, the congregation knots those ties while saying a prayer for the recipient.
These quilts are created to bring comfort to those in need. Please contact Rev. Omar Rodriguez at omar@trinitycathedral.com if you or someone you love would be comforted by one of these hand-made quilts.
We invite anyone over 10 years of age who might want to learn more about quilting to join us. We meet from 10 am to 2 pm on two Saturdays a month as the Cathedral schedule permits. Our time together always includes a brown bag lunch.
Our other meetings through summer 2024 (subject to change) will be: May 18th & 25th, and June 8th & 22nd. These dates are subject to change depending on other events at the Cathedral.
Thank you to all who have helped provide healing gifts to members of the Trinity family, those they love, and those fleeing domestic abuse who are sheltered by The Sojourner Center.

World Labyrinth Day
May 4 | 10:00 a.m.
Labyrinth
Gather at Trinity on May 4th to participate in a worldwide event to walk labyrinths around the globe!
This is an international event sponsored by The Labyrinth Society to promote unity, healing and community through the ancient practice of walking the labyrinth in meditation.
This year’s walking participants will also have the opportunity to tie prayer knots for worldwide peace and healing into a quilt provided by the Trinity Quilters.
Anyone with questions may contact Veronica Ritson at veronica.ritson@gmail.com.

Setup begins at 3 p.m., and cleanup is usually finished by 7:15.
If you are interested in helping to start this new service opportunity, please email Deacon Myra Kingsley at myra@trinitycathedral.com.

As the Spring semester continues at Garfield, the food pantry has found it is running low on several much-needed items, especially:
Spaghetti Os
Oatmeal (1 lb. containers)
Dried milk (2 lb. or less)
Jelly
Canola oil
Spaghetti (1 lb. boxes)
Rice (1 lb. bags)
Tomato sauce (cans only, please)
Corn
Diced tomatoes (15 oz. cans)
As a reminder, please do not bring items in glass containers, as they are likely to break between when we give the food to the children and when they get home.
Thank you to everyone who continues to support this vital ministry to ensure children in need are getting the nutrition their growing bodies require.
