On Sunday, February 17, 2019, an Empty Bowls event will be held at Natchez Pottery to benefit the Natchez Stewpot. Empty Bowls is an international project that aims to fight hunger community by community. The Natchez Stewpot has been serving meals to the needy of our community for over thirty years, and currently serves over two hundred people a day, every day of the year.

Local potters and pottery students have made bowls, “empty bowls,” which will be filled with gumbo and served between 11:30 am and 1:00 pm at Natchez Clay, 101 Clifton Ave Those who purchase a ticket and attend the event will select a handmade bowl and enjoy a simple meal. For those not wanting to stay and eat, take-out containers will be available. The bowl will be yours to keep as a reminder of the empty bowls in our community and the world.

Tickets for the event are $25.00 and are for sale at Natchez Coffee Company.  All proceeds go to the Natchez Stewpot to help feed the hungry in our community.
