Greening of the Church - Sunday, Dec 23rd
After the 10:30 a.m. Service
In this season of preparation, please add to your calendars the
Greening of the Church. There is a brief window between Advent 4 and Christmas to adorn our worship space to greet the Christmas season. We will do that all together on
Sunday, 12/23, immediately after the 10:30 worship service.
We encourage all who worship that morning to stay and help place poinsettias, fill the windows with evergreens, and hang garlands and wreaths. This is a great opportunity for others to experience the joy of transforming the nave to welcome Christ, and visitors, and one another for the services of the Christmas season. So, wear your working shoes to church, encourage your pew-neighbors to pitch in, and decorate the church together!

As we move from Advent into Christmas, the “Telling the Gospel in Glass” class that meets at 8:30 am on Sundays in the church nave will transition from a study of the birth narratives of Jesus to looking at his teachings as an adult – starting with two windows that illuminate our personal relationship with Jesus.

Vesty Elections - Nominations are due by December 25, 2018
|
On the 20
th
of January, Trinity Church will hold its Annual Meeting. On the agenda of the Annual meeting will be the election of four members to serve on the Vestry. The process for electing new vestry members is as follows:
Nominees must be Episcopalians in good standing.
“Good standing” equates to:
- Confirmed Member of the Episcopal Church and a Member of Trinity Church
- regular attendance at services and church events
- being officially pledged to the church (for the year 2019) and will continue pledging
- the ability to attend most Vestry meetings (usually held once per month)
- being involved (or will become involved) in service and ministry at Trinity Church
- being “visible” in the life of the parish
Nominators should first check with potential nominees to ascertain their willingness to stand for Vestry election. Nominees are responsible for ensuring that they meet the above criteria.
Nominations may be made by completing a paper form that can be obtained in the Church Office, or you can print out a nomination form
here
.
Nominations are due by December 25
th
(Christmas Day) to Fr. Ken.

The 2018 Santas for Seniors gift exchange will be at the Adams County Nursing home Friday, December 21st at 2PM
You do not have to be a Santa to attend the party!
|
|
Thank you for all your help and support for the 2018 Santas for Seniors. All of our seniors have been adopted this year! If you would like to come to the party on Dec. 21st at 2 PM you are welcome! You do not have to be a Santa to join the party!
You can still donate a monetary gift for this ministry. Checks can be dropped off to the parish office earmarked for Santas for Seniors.
The Santas are also restocking the game room at the nursing center. Games of all cognitive levels are needed. 'Simple' games are best!
Santas for Seniors is an outreach effort sponsored by the Trinity Outreach Committee. Contact Melinda Ballard for information on how you can support this ministry.

TRINITY MEN'S BREAKFAST ON THURSDAYS at 7 AM
A few years ago, several men gathered on Thursdays in the Parish Hall for fellowship and reflection over a hardy breakfast. Preparing the breakfast was a shared responsibility (as well as kitchen clean-up). There is some talk in reviving this tradition but we need to know if there is an interest.\ If interested or need details, contact Mike Gemmell at
mkgemmell@bellsouth.net
or call 601.445.5473; 601.807.2527.
