Beloit Art Center- October Exhibits
We're pleased to present Joan Bredendick, Gary Bredendick and Amy Rundle as our featured artists in October. All exhibits will run through October 26th.
In the Sveum Gallery: we're featuring Mr. and Mrs. Bredendick with Oil Paintings, Watercolors and Colored Pencil Drawings.
Gary Bredendick’s intent is to engage the viewer with a sense of residing in a place. Using a variety of special brushes and techniques for effect, texture, tonal hues, and value are used to create a sense of depth and atmospheric perspective in his work. Over the years, he has explored using pastels, wet-on-wet watercolor, and air-brushed watercolor to convey the atmospheric light and perspective of the Midwestern skies.
| |
|
Joan Bredendick relies on the transparent nature of the watercolor by using multi-layered glazes of paint to achieve rich color saturation and deep value contrast. “I use watercolor paint without preconceptions of what a watercolor should look like," she says. "Paint is paint. Each painting or drawing tells a story. I provide the clues and the viewer adds their own interpretation to the narrative”.
| |
|
In the Bell Gallery: we're pleased to feature the work of Amy Rundle. Rundle has been an artist since the math pages of first grade, but on a serious platform for 20 years. She loves nature, architecture, animals, and country living, and prefers realism and bright, clean colors in her art.
Beloit Art Center Gallery & Gift Shop Hours:
Monday | 10 am - 2 pm
Tuesday - Friday | 10 am - 5 pm
Saturday | 10 am - 2 pm
The galleries are free and open to the public. www.beloitartcenter.com
