It's almost time for Downtown Trick-or-Treat, brought to you by Beverly Main Streets and the City of Beverly! Put the finishing touches on your kiddos' costumes, grab the treat bags, and head downtown on Thursday, October 27 from 4-6pm for some good old-fashioned fun. We are teaming up with City Hall to create an activity zone on their lawn at 191 Cabot St, so be sure to stop by after you make the rounds to all the downtown businesses on Cabot and Rantoul (look for the orange flyer in the window of participating businesses)! In addition to more treat grabs, there will be a DJ, lawn games, hand painting, photo booth, raffles and a very special guest! And get ready for the BevCam Costume Parade, happening on Cabot Street, where little ones will have the chance to show off their costume for our local public access channel. The BevCam Costume Parade will also be available to view on our website, more information to come.

Please be advised that Cabot St will be closed to traffic from its intersection with Dane St to its intersection with Railroad Ave from 3:30-7pm on the 27th. While there will be plenty of trick-or-treating fun on Rantoul St as well, show caution as that street will remain open to traffic.

If you have a business or organization in the downtown district, we will be going door-to-door this week to offer flyers to those who wish to participate in trick-or-treat. If we miss you or you decide you'd like a flyer after the fact, send us a message and we will get one to you!

The Cabot will be holding Community Conversations:
Students as Changemakers: Creating Opportunities to Build a Better Tomorrow, tonight October 18th at 7pm. Come be inspired by the student changemakers in our community and learn how you can support their efforts or spark some change of your own! This event is free but registration is requested. A + B Burgers continues their Behind the Brewer series this week with another local favorite, Shipyard Brewing. Join them from 6:00pm-8:00pm on Wednesday October 19th, the brewer will be on hand to discuss the beer, pairings and answer questions.

The Beverly Public Library will be hosting Introduction to 3D Printing this Wednesday, October 19 from 6:30pm to 8pm. Interested in 3D printing? This class provides instruction on using a MakerBot 3D printer, the use of MakerBot Print software, and using Thingiverse, a platform for 3D designs. Participants will prepare designs in this hands-on instructional workshop for printing at a later date. Adults and teens 16+. Registration is required, learn more and sign up here.

Join LEAP for Education friends, neighbors, volunteers and team members on Wednesday, October 19th starting at 5pm, at Channel Marker Brewing as they close out a 20-day fundraising campaign in celebration of LEAP's 20th anniversary and look forward to the next 20 years! Swing by briefly or for a while, whether or not you imbibe (there's delicious popcorn!) and consider making a donation to support LEAP's mission of empowering underserved students. Join Kendall from Klayhouse Ceramics for a hand-building workshop hosted by Fennel House Studio on Thursday, October 20, 2022 from 6:30 to 8:30pm. Live Music
Los Sugar Kings will be performing at Old Planters Brewing on Friday, October 21 from 7-10pm. Sugar Kings is a Boston-based quartet known for their dynamic live performances, rich harmonies, intense musicianship and ability to transcend genres with an authenticity rarely heard. In their world, respect is paid to the forefathers and traditions of Afro-Cuban Son, Salsa and Rumba-Flamenca but Sugar Kings (named after a Cuban baseball team) also actively draw on influences from nearly every continent in their unique roots-rock-reggae-r&B repertoire.

The Gallerist will be playing at Old Planters Brewing on Saturday October 22 at 7pm. The Gallerist is an original indie/folk rock band from the North Shore, mixing acoustic and electric influences from Wilco to Neil Young, the Avett Brothers to Black Francis.

The ASU crew returns to Fibber McGee's for a night of early New Orleans R&B, rock 'n' roll and boogie woogie soul!! Lisa Marie & All Shook Up with Johnny Juxo & Mickey Bones on Saturday October 22nd from 9:30pm-12am. Come down for tasty eats & a pint or two, no cover charge.

Come to the Larcom Theatre on Saturday, October 22 at 8pm to experience The Joshua Tree. As the nation’s premier tribute to U2, The Joshua Tree pride themselves with their ability to generate a unique musical experience that does not lend itself to impersonations. Without compromising artistic integrity, the band has gone to great lengths to reproduce the distinct sound of one of the world’s most popular rock bands. You know the drill! Get out to Chianti for a killer show this Saturday, October 22 at 8pm with Skunk Sessions adding the one and only Henley Douglas into the fold on saxes. The super group will play a nice long show with no openers. $15 to get in for this intimate experience in a great room.

Broadway takes over the Larcom Theatre this Sunday, October 23rd for an unforgettable night of pure bliss! From Camelot to Turandot, the talented vocalists and musicians hailing from the North Shore and beyond take you on a musical journey through Broadway Hits and Opera Arias.
