Olympic Sailors @ TISC!

The US Olympic Sailing Team came to TISC on May 15th to inspire our youth to reach for the Gold!, or Bronze.

The students from Dianne Feinstein Elementary School had the chance to meet and sail with Olympic medalist Caleb Paine.

When one of the students was asked, "Would you like to win one of those medals someday?", she promptly responded, "I WILL WIN one someday!". Their smiles said it all!                     Photo Credit: US Sailing / Will Ricketson

We look forward to having the Olympic Team training here at TISC and continue inspiring our young sailors. Thanks to everyone who made that day so special!

Reaches 6,172 !

Our 2018 Spring season of SSL has finished, pushing our total number of students served to 6,172 !

Ms Annie Roach, 4th grade teacher at McKinely Elementary School, has brought her students the past three years to learn about the Ecology of the Bay on the water and on land.

Her class finished out our Spring Season on a picture perfect day.  We look forward to a wonderful Fall season, don't hesitate to sign your class up!

"TISC is absolutely amazing! I am often amazed at how many of my students have never been to the beach or on the bay even though they live in this amazing city. How can we expect our students to be interested in what is happening outside of their world when it is often seen as something that others do and experience, not us? Well, TISC changes that. It allows student to see just how connected we are as well as how to face your fears."  Dr. Charles R. Drew College Preparatory Academy

Rewards Program

We acknowledge the importance of giving back to our communities. Some of us get involved with TISC to meet new people and others to sharpen their skills. Some people are passionate for the cause, while others may volunteer to learn how to sail. For the later, we have created a Volunteer Rewards Program. Whatever the motivation, all are welcome!
TISC Volunteers with a minimum of 16 hours of service:
  • Can utilize TISC's programs and fleet
  • Can trade their hours equal to hours of instruction for any of TISC's courses or rentals
  • Must adhere to TISC's progression of courses and boat usage policies
  • Must complete volunteer hours equal to any course or rental prior to any reservation
TISC will reserve 25% of its courses for volunteers per availability. Volunteer hours are non-transferable unless in the case of a minor to whom the volunteer is a legal guardian.
