Strengthening, Supporting, and Celebrating Our Diverse LGBTQ+ Community | Transgender Day of Remembrance | |
Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDoR) is a solemn occasion observed annually on November 20th to honor the memory of transgender individuals who have lost their lives due to acts of violence and discrimination. This day serves as a poignant reminder of the struggles faced by the transgender community worldwide, highlighting the urgent need for societal change and legal protections. TDoR not only memorializes those who have tragically died but also aims to raise awareness about the pervasive transphobia that persists in our country and throughout the world. It is a time for reflection, solidarity, and a call to action to create a world where everyone, regardless of their gender identity, can live authentically and without fear.
To honor Trans Day of Remembrance, the Center will host a commemoration led by Phoenix, our program assistant. At this time, we want to ask the community for story submissions about trans loved ones who have lost their lives. To submit your story, Click Here.

Thank you to Radio Kingston for co-organizing this impromptu pop-up painting day, taking advantage of a non-rainy Saturday to get the crosswalk freshened up before the winter. We were sorry that this event has been postponed this season, because of the rainy weather.
As this was a short-notice event, we know that we may have unfortunately missed out on more community members who wanted to attend. But please do join us for a paint refresh in the spring - just in time for pride! 🌈
