TRAIL HIGHLIGHTS

This month we are visiting Vaughn Creek in Tryon.

This easy 0.8 mile trail takes hikers through a beautiful wooded area along Vaughn Creek. Not far into the hike, visitors can see Siller's Falls on their left. The trail ends at a large tunnel that Vaughn Creek flows through.

There are numerous benches along the greenway and a picnic shelter along New Market Road. There is now a short trail that goes from the picnic shelter to Siller's Falls.

Parking for this trail is in a small, open field about 300 feet from the trailhead. It requires crossing and walking alongside the road, so be careful of cars!

On September 3rd at 2pm SCLT will be hosting a walk at Vaughn Creek. Additional information can be obtained from their website.

Additional maps & information for Vaughn Creek can be found on our website!

TRAILS COMMITTEE MEETING

Monday, August 28th at 6:00pm

We will meet at Saluda Outfitters (435 E. Main Street, Saluda NC)

OTHER NEWS

If you are making plans for gatherings this Summer remember that the large picnic shelter at the Recreation Complex can be reserved for private events....birthday parties, showers, family reunions.

In an effort to streamline the process for residents we have created an online form for reservation requests. We will respond to your request with an email confirmation.

MIND YOUR MANNERS

Most trails, if they are open, may not have public facilities that are open, so check ahead of time. Please keep dogs on-leash on any hiking trail, take your trash with you, etc. Thanks for doing your part!
