UK's Government Export Strategy - Supporting and Connecting Businesses to Grow on the World Stage

The UK Government recently launched its new Export Strategy to help UK businesses grow through exporting. The Government's ambition is to see exports grow as a proportion of GDP from 30% to 35% of GDP in the long term.

The strategy sets out the four ways the Government can make a difference leveraging the following government resources:

  • Finance - Ensure no viable UK export fails for lack of finance or insurance from the private sector;
  • Connect - Connect UK businesses to overseas buyers, markets and each other;
  • Inform - Help businesses access the right information, advice and practical assistance;
  • Encourage - Encourage and inspire businesses that can export but have not started or are just beginning.
