Dogs on Leash

Just a friendly reminder that when it comes to our furry companions, safety and respect is key!

Provincial rules state that dogs on all BC beaches should be leashed at all times. The Town enforces this between Beach Creek and Grandon Creek between June 15 and September 15.

Heritage Forest

Dogs in the Heritage Forest must be leashed at all times as per Bylaw 626 (fines range from $75 to $500).

Watering Restrictions

From May 15 until September 15 the watering of lawns and gardens is only permitted between the hours of 7 pm and 7 am daily. Hand watering is permitted at any time.

Town Enjoys a Cleaner Summer

Crews are motoring along this Summer with our e-mower! Not only is it quieter, but it also reduces the amount of exhaust a gas-powered mower emits.

The Town is continuously seeking opportunities to add green power to our equipment. Our Parks Department has transitioned 22 pieces of equipment to fully electric which will reduce our annual greenhouse gas emissions by 11.01 tCO2e per year, a reduction of 3.7% of our direct emissions for 2023.
