A beloved restaurant in Bay Minette, Alabama has recently announced its retirement with a "For Sale" sign.
"Street's Seafood Restaurant" has been a cornerstone of the North Baldwin Community for 36 years, offering delicious home-cooked meals seven days a week and being a true Community Supporter. Street's has been more than just a restaurant; it has been a place where many people found their first job and created countless memories. Street's has served as a meeting place for many, including the everyday "regulars" who would discuss how to solve the world's problems at the “Table of Knowledge”. Owner Eugene Overstreet, a Purple Heart recipient wounded in action while serving our Country, has dedicated himself to serving the North Baldwin Community with hard work and commitment for many years.
On behalf of the North Baldwin Chamber of Commerce, we extend our heartfelt thanks to Mr. Eugene for his years of service and we wish him a happy retirement. We are sad to see such a dedicated community advocate retire, but we are grateful for the Overstreet family's support in maintaining a Bay Minette icon that has attracted visitors from all over. The closing of Street's will truly be the end of an era and will be missed greatly by many.
Be sure to stop by and enjoy all your favorite dishes. The restaurant will remain open until the building is sold. The Streets Seafood and Meat Market will remain open and continue to serve the North Baldwin Community!
