Historic Fort Mims State Memorial Park is the site of the Battle of Fort Mims, where more than 500 soldiers lost their lives to the Creek Indians in August 1813. This battle became recognized as one of the most horrendous battles in U.S. history. Each year, the Fort Mims Restoration Association holds its' annual reenactment and living history weekend to commemorate this important event that forever changed American history.

We invite you to attend the 212th Anniversary on August 24-25, 2024, at the site of Fort Mims in Tensaw, AL. Don't miss an excellent opportunity to learn about the daily life of early settlers and how their lives intermingled with the Creek Indians during the early 1800's, long before Alabama became a state.
