Together, We Did It

Hello supporter!

We offer our sincere gratitude for your generous support of the National Youth Book Conference's (NYBC) mission to promote youth literacy and empower disadvantaged students in underserved communities.

Thanks to your contribution, we've raised more than $7,000 in Quarter 1, bringing us one step closer to our goal of $60,000 by the end of Quarter 4. Your support has made a significant impact on our ability to uplift and empower young people in the metro Atlanta area and beyond.

With your help, we purchased 475 copies of Have You Thanked An Inventor Today? by Patrice McLaurin for students during Black History Month at Seaborn Lee Elementary. Ms. McLaurin read the book in two separate sessions to the students and signed a copy for each child. It was an inspiring day as we worked to inspire the next generation of avid readers and leaders.

As an NYBC supporter, you are helping make a difference in the lives of young people. Your generosity and commitment to our cause are truly uplifting, and we cannot thank you enough.

National Reading Month

As we reflect on the literary wonders that unfolded during March's National Reading Month, we at NYBC are beaming with pride! The enchanting power of books swept through young minds, sparking imaginations and lighting up hearts. NYBC stands tall as a champion of African American literature, a source of inspiration for budding authors, and dreamers alike.

In February, donated 55 and 45 copies respectively of Keep Dreaming Black Child by Nyasha Williams to Georgia Preparatory School in Covington and to the Miles Ahead Charter School in Marietta.

Read Across America Day

The energy and impact of Read Across America Day at Seaborn Elementary School in Atlanta was electrifying!

Picture this: an oratorical competition and reading marathon creating a vibrant, inclusive space from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., fostering a sense of community and belonging that is truly heartwarming. NYBC Program Manager Felita Bunn "had the most amazing time" participating and engaging with students from various classes, she said, adding:

"Seeing those young minds light up with creativity and inspiration highlighted the power of supporting initiatives that uplift our youth through the magic of reading."
