Congratulations to eighth grader Macy Morrone who was recognized as a Student of the Month by the Perry Rotary Club! We are Westfield proud!

Congratulations to our weekly AR Prize patrol winners. Our Lower School Hornets love books! Way to go, readers! #acceleratedreader #educationofmindandheart

Our first graders shared their knowledge about the great state of Georgia with Pre-K. They read the Georgia books they have written and illustrated to their Pre-K friends! #readingbuddies #westfieldsecondgrade #westfieldprek #educationofmindandheart

Our kindergarten students are learning about the life cycle of butterflies. They’ve been drawing their own versions of caterpillars, and they enjoyed a special snack to show the life cycle! Live caterpillars arrived this week, and they cannot wait to watch God’s handiwork as they become butterflies! #westfieldfirstgrade #educationofmindandheart

Our fifth grade students took a "sneak peek" into what Middle School will be like next year this morning as they "shadowed" our sixth graders! They enjoyed spending time in Middle School, meeting teachers, going to classes, and getting to a cafeteria snack at Middle School break! We can't wait to welcome these "almost" sixth graders to Middle School in August! #fifthandsixthgradeshadowday #welcometoMiddleSchool

Our fourth graders had an awesome day exploring Cumberland Island! Today, our second grade is visiting Chehaw Park. #learningoutsidetheclassroom #westfieldfourthgrade #westfieldsecondgrade

Fifth graders in Mrs. Shelley Greer’s science classes used Alka-Seltzer and water to create film canister rockets, seeing first-hand Newton’s first law of motion (inertia) and third law of motion (action/reaction). #handsonlearning #westfieldscience #westfieldfifthgrade

Freshmen students in Mr. Shane Hall's Honors World History class worked collaboratively to create and presented presentations on early African and early American civilizations. In addition to their presentations, the students also created a written activity assignment for their fellow classmates to complete. #westfieldupperschool #readyforcollege #educationofmindandheart

Our senior class had the opportunity to observe and experience professionals in various careers and industries as part of the Westfield Senior Experience (WSE) Week. Students chose mentors and pursued activities in work and service-learning environments away from the Westfield campus for a full week. Their experience culminated in a formal presentation to the Upper School Director and faculty members who reviewed each senior's project. One of Westfield's oldest traditions, this senior experience began in the early 1970s and was known then as Vocational Interest Program or VIP Week.#WSEWeek #whsclassof2024

This week, Westfield partnered with Lori Johnson State Farm Insurance Agent,

the Southeastern Chapter of the National Safety Council (SCNSC), and Houston County Sheriff's Department to help students develop safer driving habits with a hands-on, outdoor learning experience. The National Safety Council Distracted Driving Simulator uses virtual reality technology to create manual, cognitive and visual distractions behind-the-wheel. These simulations show young drivers first-hand how speeding, distractions and impairment can result in deadly consequences. Students are participating in a variety of hands-on activities throughout the day to promote safe driving practices, including mock traffic stops with law enforcement officers and a golf cart cone course with Fatal Vision googles to simulate impairment. Thank you to Lori Johnson State Farm Insurance Agent, the Sheriff's Department, and the SCNSC for helping our students to learn about driving safety! #aprilisdistracteddriverawarenessmonth

Thank you to first grade teacher Mrs. Liana Walton and her daughter, Aubrey Walton ‘24, for speaking to our Lower School students. They talked about our identity as children of God. We are thankful for every opportunity to pour God’s Word into the hearts of our students! #FaithfulFriday #educationofmindandheart
