We Will Never Forget: Remembering 9/11

Lower School students remembered Patriots Day by wearing red, white, and blue to honor our country and those who lost lives on September 11th. First and second graders read This Very Tree by Sean Rubin, a sweet book about perseverance and regrowth after 9/11. Each student wrote three reasons why we are proud to be Americans. Third graders made American flags for their classrooms. #educationofmindandheart

Get Ready for Homecoming Spirit Week!

Please note that Middle and Upper School students may participate each day. Students in grades 1 - 5 may participate Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

Pre-K and Kindergarten students may participate on Friday only.

Gratitude in Action:

A Sincere Thank You to Our WFO Volunteers

We want to extend a huge thank you to everyone who participated in the WFO Monthly Faculty and Staff Appreciation Breakfast! Our faculty and staff were truly touched by your generosity and kindness.

Here are just a few of the thoughtful messages we received:

Mrs. Robin Leonard, Upper School faculty, shared, “A massive thank you to all those moms who purchase, cook, set everything up, and then clean it all up!

It is truly such a gift. We talk about it all week long.”

Mrs. Lauren Mann, Middle and Upper School faculty shared, “We are so very, very grateful for all the hard work and love that goes into these breakfasts.

Please let the WFO know how much we appreciate them!"

We would like to extend a special thanks to the volunteers who made this breakfast extra special: Pre-K (Mrs. Rashelle Benton's class parents), 1st, 4th, 6th, and 9th grade parent volunteers. Your efforts help create a positive and uplifting atmosphere for our teachers and staff, and it truly makes a difference. Thank you for your continued support and delicious treats!

She spent time with an exchange student whom she hosted during high school and her family. Kate shared a presentation to our students highlighting the Spanish customs, architecture, and religions. She challenged our students to pursue their Spanish studies because of the opportunities it presents. All students wrote down interesting facts and questions to discuss in class this week. Thank you, Kate, for visiting Westfield! #westfieldforeignlanguage

Learning and demonstrating good citizenship are important lessons for our students. Our Lower School students (Pre-K through 1st grade and then 2nd grade through 5th grade) joined together and opened their Faithful Friday assembly by singing praise to God in both English and Spanish. Thank you to Mrs. Ashley Davis, Lower School Spanish teacher, for speaking to our students. She shared Psalm 96:3, encouraging students to share the good news of Christ with others in both English and Spanish. We are thankful for our faculty and staff who help plant seeds of truth and God’s love for our students. #educationofmindandheart #FaithfulFriday

Thank you to Zack Hood, youth pastor at Houston Lake Presbyterian Church, for encouraging our Middle and Upper School students during this week's assembly. Sharing scripture from Ephesians 1:3, Zack students that while we are insecure apart from Christ, we are secure in Him, adopted by God the Father, redeemed by Christ, and securely sealed for eternal life by the Holy Spirit. We are grateful for local youth pastors who pour the Gospel into the hearts of our students. Thank you to our Praise Band for leading us in worship for our weekly Middle and Upper School assembly program.#WednesdayWisdom #educationofmindandheart
