Join us for the Alumni Tailgate on Friday, September 27th before kickoff as we celebrate Homecoming and commemorate the anniversary of our 2014 State Championship! Reconnect with fellow alumni, enjoy delicious wings, chips, and more, and get ready to cheer on the Hornets as they take on Pinewood in what promises to be an exciting game.

Join Westfield's LEGO TEAM

for students in grades 4 - 8

FIRST LEGO League Challenge is designed for students in grades 4-8 to participate in a friendly competition of research, problem-solving, coding, and engineering. Students will build and program a LEGO robot that will navigate a large game board with 15 missions to accomplish. No prior experience is needed!

Over the next several weeks, Mr. Jarrod Lewis, Middle and Upper School science teacher, will teach the team how to program their robot to accomplish various tasks. The team will brainstorm ways for their robot to activate the various components across the game board, allowing them to accomplish each mission. Ultimately, the team will program, practice, and re-program until they can accomplish as many of the 15 missions as possible in 2 minutes and 30 seconds. This year’s theme is Submerged - check out the informational video below!

The official tournament season starts in November, and team scores will determine which teams are invited to compete at higher levels (local, regional, state, national).

Meetings are planned tentatively for Wednesdays and Fridays after school (3:00-4:30). If you and your student can commit to this schedule, please click on the button below to register with the FIRST league and agree to their terms and consent form.

Fourth graders in Mrs. Shannon Reber’s English classes completed an "around the room scoot" to review sentences, run ons and fragments. Students used their answers to play notes on the virtual piano. Upper School students in Mrs. Robin Leonard’s Honors English II classes are working in pairs, discussing theme, characterization, and heroic transformations in the novel A Lesson Before Dying by Ernest J. First graders in Mrs. Karen Ray's art class are learning to draw through directed drawing. The students use their listening skills to pay attention to and follow the step-by-step instructions given by Mrs. Ray and then they use their creative skills and imagination to create their own art. Our Middle School softball team is having a great season with a big 5-4 win this week vs Tattnall. Great job, Lady Hornets!! #westfieldsoftball

The varsity clay target team competed in its first meet of the 2024 season, traveling to the Forest City Gun Club in Savannah where the GIAA State Championships are held every year. Two hundred targets were engaged, and a promising experience was had by all. Great job, Hornet shooters! #westfieldclaytargetshooting

Congrats to our cross country teams competing today at FPD! The Middle School boys placed 2nd overall with Jack Furr placing 3rd and Charlie Furr placing 4th. Olivia Carruth placed 13th in the Middle School girls’ race. Charley Moore placed 5th and Holland Carruth placed 13th in the varsity girls race, and the varsity girls took 3rd place overall. Great job, Hornet XC!!

Need to buy a season pass? Athletic season passes are available for sale in the Administration Office. You may pay by check or cash or online at the button below. The pass provides admission to all home, regular season games of all sports at Westfield. The pass does not provide admission to any playoff games. All Westfield students are admitted free to home, regular season games for all sports.
