Prelude ~

GATHERING IN THE SPIRIT’S PRESENCE

Centering Affirmation: I would rather be honestly doubtful than dishonestly certain.

Welcome and Announcements

Led by Pastor Ken

Opening Words

Led by Pastor Ken

One: Who are we and what are we called to do?

All: We are the sensitive and responsive ones called

to create a world where every person is radically

affirmed and barriers between people become

bridges of inclusion, justice, and spirituality.

Call to Worship

Led by Barb Zaborowski

(Please stand in body, mind or spirit.)

One: As we enter into this sacred place, put away

the pressures of the world that ask us to

perform.

All: We will dare to attempt to take off our

masks. We will try to find the courage to

put down our brave fronts.

We will find the love that casts out the

fear and silences the voices that demand

us to be perfect.

One: We are a community of compassion and

welcoming.

We bring all that we are and all we yet can

be, to this safe and holy place.

Singing Our Faith

~ Weave, Weave

Words by Rosemary Crow

Chorus

Weave, weave, weave us together

Weave us together in unity and love.

Weave, weave, weave us together,

Weave us together, together in love.

1. We are many textures, we are many colors,

Each one diff’rent from the other.

But we are entwined with one another in one

great tapestry.

Chorus

2. We are diff’rent instruments playing our own

melodies,

Each one tuning to a diff’rent key.

But we are all playing in harmony in one great

symphony.

Chorus

3. Moments ago we did not know our unity,

only diversity.

Now the Christ in me greets the Christ in thee,

In one great family.

Chorus

Celebrations

Led by Pastor Ken

This is our time to share the celebrations of our lives:

birthdays, anniversaries, words of kindness and works of

peace and justice.

Celebration Song

Led by Travis Meyers

Celebrate your heart and your spirit,

Celebrate your life while you live it.

Even when it’s hard to do,

Celebrate the best of you.

Celebrate your dreams and your visions,

Celebrate the love you’ve been given.

Cherish all that you’ve been through,

Celebrate the best of you.

In response to our celebrations and the deep goodness of life, our offerings for the

celebration of life, in this place and beyond, shall now be

received.

Invitation to Give

Shared by Barbara Zaborowski

One: Here today, we renew our unity with one another,

and with all those who have gone before us in this place.

All: Here today, we renew our communion with the earth and our interwovenness with the broken

ones of the world. Let us bring our offerings as a decision to be co-creators with God in a safer and more inclusive world. Let us give of ourselves and our offerings to make life good.

Offerings and Offertory ~

Shared by Christine Kyhn

Dedication of Our Offerings

Led by Barb Zaborowski

One: We look for a gentler humanity, a kinder world:

All: with our money and with our hearts,

with our minds and with every good

intention, let our offering be our prayer and our

deed.

Word About Life ~

Shared by Pastor Ken

“I like the scientific spirit—the holding off, the being sure but not too sure, the willingness to surrender ideas when the evidence is against them: this is ultimately fine—it always keeps the way beyond open—always gives life, thought, affection, the whole man, a chance to try over again after a mistake—after a wrong guess.”

Words For Mission

One: Now may the blessings of life be upon us,

and upon our gathering.

All: May the moments we shared here give us hope for the future.

One: May the love that we share bring strength

and joy to our hearts, and the peace of our

spiritual family be with us until we meet

again. These are the times!

All: We are the people!

One: All of Creation is blessed.

All: May we love all and serve all.

One: May God be with you.

All: And also with you.

One: Amen.

All: Amen.

EMPOWERING AND SENDING

Sending Forth Song ~ Companions On The Journey

Led by Christine Kyhn

Chorus

We are companions on our journey,

Breaking bread and sharing life.

In the love we bear is the hope we share

For we believe in the love of our God.

Yes, we believe in the love of our God.

1. No longer strangers to each other,

No longer strangers in God’s house,

We are blest and we are nourished,

By the love we all can share.

Chorus

2. Although the journey may be rocky,

Although the way’s not always clear,

We will share God’s love a-plenty,

With all people far and near.

Chorus

Sermon Reboot is OFF for today.

This is a time to talk about the message and explore together using the ORID Art Form Conversation methodology. What is ORID? It stands for Observation, Reflection, Interpretation, and Decision. You will get the hang of it.
