GATHERING IN THE SPIRIT’S PRESENCE

Centering Affirmation: Dare to Doubt

Welcome and Announcements

Shared by Pastor Ken

Opening Words

Led by Pastor Ken

One: Who are we and what are we called to do?

All: We are the sensitive and responsive ones called

to create a world where every person is radically

affirmed and barriers between people become

bridges of inclusion, justice, and spirituality.

Call to Worship

Led by

One: We live at mystery's edge watching for a

startling luminescence or a word to guide us.

All: In fragile occurrence the Holy One

presents oneself and we must pause ...

One: Daily, there are glimmers,

reflections of a seamless mercy

revealed in life's intricacies.

All: These circles of grace spill out around us

and announce that we are part of this

mystery.

Singing Our Faith

~ Draw the Circle Wide

Chorus

Draw the circle wide. Draw it wider still.

Let this be our song, no one stands alone, standing side by side –

Draw the circle wide.

God the stillpoint of the circle, round whom all creation turns.

Nothing lost but held forever, in God’s gracious arms.

Chorus

Let our hearts touch far horizons, so encompass great and small.

Let our loving know no borders, faithful to God’s call!

Chorus

Let the dreams we dream be larger than we’ve ever dreamed before.

Let the dream of Christ be in us, open every door.

Chorus

STILLING OURSELVES

Opening Prayer Shared by Pastor Ken

Sharing the Peace

Led by

You are in the story of the world.

You are the world coming to know itself.

May you trust that all you will ever say or do

Belongs in the story of the world. Create a world of peace and wish each other peace.

Celebrations

This is our time to share the celebrations of our lives:

birthdays, anniversaries, words of kindness and works of

peace and justice.

Celebration Song

Led by Travis Meyers

Celebrate your heart and your spirit,

Celebrate your life while you live it.

Even when it’s hard to do,

Celebrate the best of you.

Celebrate your dreams and your visions,

Celebrate the love you’ve been given.

Cherish all that you’ve been through,

Celebrate the best of you.

In response to our celebrations and the deep goodness of life, our offerings for the

celebration of life, in this place and beyond, shall now be

received.

Invitation to Give

One:   May we awaken to the presence of God,

All:  here in this ordinary place.

One:   May we awaken to the power of love,

All:  here in this ordinary crowd.

One: May we build a neighborhood of justice for all,

All:  now in this ordinary time.

One: May we daily work to build a world at peace,

All:  now with these ordinary hands we give of ourselves and our offerings.

Dedication of Our Offerings

Led by

One: By our smallest actions, we become part of a

bigger world. The smallest giving can be an

expression of the good spirit of generosity

and caring.

All: May we and these gifts be used to build

a foundation of inclusion, justice and

spirituality. Amen.

Words For Mission

One:   If there is any sense to life it is this:

All:     Let us take the gift of this week’s life with renewed hope and imagination.

One: These are the times!

All: We are the people!

One: All of Creation is blessed.

All: May we love all and serve all.

One: May God be with you.

All: And also with you.

One: Amen.

All: Amen.

EMPOWERING AND SENDING

Sending Forth Song

~ Hymn of Promise

Led by Travis Meyers

1.   In the bulb there is a flower, in the seed, an apple tree;

In cocoons, a hidden promise: butterflies will soon be free!

In the cold and snow of winter there’s a spring that waits to be,

Unrevealed until its season, something God alone can see.

2. There’s a song in every silence, seeking word and melody;

There’s a dawn in every darkness, bringing hope to you and me.

From the past will come the future, what it holds, a mystery,

Unrevealed until its season, something God alone can see.

3. In our end is our beginning, in our time, infinity;

In our doubt there is believing, in our life, eternity.

In our loss is hope emerging, bringing possibility,

Unrevealed until its season, something God alone can see.

Sermon Reboot is ON for today.

This is a time to talk about the message and explore together using the ORID Art Form Conversation methodology. What is ORID? It stands for Observation, Reflection, Interpretation, and Decision. You will get the hang of it.
