An Update on

SafTCart Production

With the aid of the screens that have been installed in every production booth, it is now possible to be paper free and efficient with all product production. There were two major issues with the old system; paper tends to get dirty fast which can leave it illegible but also each work order would have to be sorted and delivered to each station to be assigned and completed. With the updated digital work station it is now possible to enact, assign and track work orders per employee.

When a production line worker commences production, they scan the associated barcode in to their station at which point the time start of production is recorded. After completing one product of a work order they close out their ticket and send it on to the paint line where it receives a thorough inspection. Any noncomplying product is easily traced back to the point of origin to be corrected. This system allows more accountability and time management.

With these extra measures in place, SafTCart can improve efficiency and production value for the consumer.

Employee Spotlight

Tommy Williams

Tommy Williams has worked at SafTCart for 31 years now. Born and raised in Clarksdale, where he still resides, Tommy is married and they have two children.

A long time friend and employee of our founder, Jimmy Walker, Sr. Tommy has put his full dedication to his craft. Here he is in charge of parts, but not in the manner of producing parts but distribution. He maintains an overwatch of the welders and parts department, sustaining communication between the moving components of the factory. Welders on the production line notify him when they need parts at which point he delivers the necessary parts from inventory. Likewise, Tommy also helps to maintain parts inventory, informing the parts production when stock runs low.

Tommy enjoys his job, stating, "if I didn't like it then I wouldn't have been here for 31 years." He especially enjoys the honor of helping Mr. Walker with his special projects; projects which have ranged in everything from innovative cart designs to passion projects. A very easy going guy, Tommy gets along with everyone. In his free time he likes to spend time with his wife and maintain his yard, and he used to shooting pool.

The SafTcart family values and thanks Tommy for his hard work and good attitude he brings every day.
