Garrisha got her start with a two year degree at the tech college in Ridgeland, MS. She is certified in tig, mig, stainless and flux welding. After graduation she moved to Vicksburg, MS. where her duties involved tig welding on the fabrication of restaurant equipment. She then taught as a welding instructor at Unified Brand and later at MS Delta Cap Center where she was their first female welding instructor. She states, "I love teaching welding [...] it is one of my favorite hobbies." Garrisha soon found herself moving to Gulfport, MS., on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, where she worked on constructing ships at Ingalls Shipyard. She later moved back home to Leland for personal reasons. |
