January 2021
The Need is Great, but Hope is Greater
Last year posed many challenges for our community and for Catholic Charities. While we've seen a great need, it has been met with great hope and perseverance.
Casting Vision for 2021
The past year has been a record year for many reasons and we're taking valuable lessons away with us. Click to learn more as project coordinator Jessica provides a look into our vision for 2021.
Children & Families
This month, the Children & Family Services team is focused on training new case managers to work in our Mom’s Empowerment program. The department is ramping up to serve more pregnant women in the coming months with case management and education.
Employment Services
We have been working with several folks on resumes this month, and on referring them to job leads and other educational opportunities. In addition, we have continued to produce Financial Literacy videos, which are available on YouTube.
Housing Services
Veteran Housing continues to house homeless veterans and assist those facing homelessness. In addition, they have received Cares ACT funding, allowing them to provide emergency assistance to veterans who are not eligible for other assistance. As for Community Housing, we are currently housing 149 individuals with complicated disabilities in 79 households.
Hope for Those Who Hunger
Food means a lot to us, and its why food insecurity is such a consuming part of poverty. Because of generous hearts, we're able to provide hope for those who are hungry.
